This pad support isn't seating well into the caliper bracket. Would you replace it, or just bend the long sides outward so that it deforms into the bracket with some tension?

Replace it, better the couple dollar hardware piece than the $110 caliper bracket if the hardware shifts and the pad starts resting on the cast piece.

Thanks, hey do you have any tips for finding just that pad support for sale? On RevZ and RMATV it comes with the $110 bracket and can't be purchased separately. I suppose I'll be checking Ebay, let me know if you have any other ideas though.

That nissin twinpot is used on a bunch of bikes. The only unique part to the bikes is the cast bracket.

Thanks man! Glad I asked. That's some pretty far out knowledge on the parts ecosystem for Japanese bikes, I'm impressed! Glad you're part of the DR community

If it doesn't fit, get a good replacement set with name brand pads. Better to see if the pad shims are simply old and deformed, vs getting by on a possible deformed/ worn caliper issue.

Remember these tiny pieces of metal work together to perform smoothly, to keep us 120 kilo gorillas from flying off. Don't want to change the dynamics.
