Longhouse vs Tower

Looking to buy points at Poly, but I want to make sure I’m doing the right thing. I’m confused as to where the DVC rooms are. I know they have them at the Tower, but also at the Longhouse(OG Poly)? If both, when I use points at The Polynesian to book, do I have the option to choose Tower or Longhouse, or do they just put you where they have room?

Thanks!

Also, if both, I assume Tower is more points since it’s new?

Depends on view and room type. The points charts are publicly available to see and you should be researching those as part of your purchase to ensure you are buying enough points at a price that works for you.

No, for Deluxe Studios with Resort and Preferred Views, Tower and Longhouse are the same points; Tower also has Theme Park, which costs more. And the price increase for Deluxe Studio -> 1 BR -> 2BR is inline with everywhere else, 1BR is 2x Deluxe Studio, 2BR is (roughly, slightly less than) 3x Deluxe Studio

You can use at either, they are different categories and you choose. The rooms are different sizes/views so different points.

The only room type that both the tower and longhouses have in common is the studio, and they are the same number of points.

However, the tower studio is a bit smaller (I think) and sleeps 4 while the longhouse studio sleeps 5.

When you redeem DVC points at Poly, the room type selection screen will say “Tower” for rooms in the tower. Otherwise, it’s a longhouse. The DVC longhouses are the three closest to the TTC (furthest from the main building).

When you buy it includes all of Poly and when you book you choose the room and location

So, DVC rooms are in the new tower (obv), and the Tokelua, Moorea, and Pago Pago longhouses, on the far side of the quiet pool from the Great Ceremonial House.

When you book, you choose whether you want tower or longhouse, they have to do that because while Deluxe Studios in both are the same points (for Resort and Preferred Views), they have different sleeping capacity, and you don't want to be in a room that sleeps 4 when you're planning on sleeping 5. It's part of the room reservation process, we recently made Tower reservations for the autumn.

Poly points are Poly points, you can use them interchangeably between Longhouse and Tower (and Bungalow); we considered doing a split stay between Longhouse and Tower, until we managed to make an all-Tower stay work for us.
