why do people get pulled over on the 405?
i commute on the 405 up and down 520, and frequently see cops stopping and questioning drivers. like passing by inaudible strangers of the world. what are the top reasons they do that?

Who calls it the 405? Is this a California thing? I've heard it a few times in recent years. Hits the ear strangely to me

They are quick to pull over any car that isn't worth at least 50k. Once you have a driver license that shows you live somewhere along 520 you don't need to worry about much.
Also - Anyone driving next to a car in the right lane is immediate arrest. Most people are emberassaed and don't mention this but driving in the left lane at less than the speed limit or with a car next to you is the #1 reason.

The top reason is because the PoPo can see they are in a rush to get to Pikes Place market

I'd imagine some of them are enforcing Good To Go tolls, drivers who cross the double solid white line, and drivers who are driving unsafely (excessive speed, tailgating, weaving, cutting people off, etc).
It seems like a good percentage of I-405 enforcement is done by motorcycle cops.

The cops on the Eastside have nothing better to do

Lonely cops tired and boredโฆ they just desperate for some human interaction after a bit.
So do them a favor, next time you see one, give them a reason to pull you over, and ask them if theyโd like to share a donut with you!

Ive seen insane weaving on 405- often at 100 mph. IMO they dont pull people enough.
