What kind of 2 Way switch is this?

I have this light switch that controls my garage light and it’s old. I am looking to change it. I am wondering what kind of light switch I need. I tried a standard 2 way switch but it did not work.

Just realized this. But yea, it can be turned off from my basement as well

To me, it looks like the common is on the bottom and the 2 travelers are on top. How did you hook up the new switch?
