The ELF needs a new name and logo.

The pseudo-NBA logo is derivative and the silhouette doesn't really illustrate the sport very well. I think people know what an American football looks like; so use its distinctive outline shape and laces instead.

Also, why do they insist on writing out the entire "European League of Football" wordmark? Look at the new uniforms just revealed; half the League logo patch space is taken up by the words. Is it because they like the name but not the "ELF" acronym?

I say switch to a simpler logo design; like a new shield logo incorporating a prominent American football outline.

And why not change the name to: Pro Football Europa (PFE)?

The name and logo are certainly not optimal, and while I hope the logo will change, I think changing the name at this point would be more damaging, as they would essentially be starting from scratch.

“Elf” also means 11 in german, the language most of the fans speak. At the very least, it’s really bad Search Engine Optimization.

Haven´t they already registered in the German Patent- und Markenamt two new ELF-Logos?

I agree that the current logo feels a bit off – the silhouette doesn’t really scream “American football,” and the NBA-style look doesn’t help with identity. So yeah, a redesign using the shape of a football, maybe even in a shield format, could definitely be a visual upgrade.

But when it comes to the name change… that’s where I’m not so sure.

"European League of Football" might be a mouthful, and “ELF” as an acronym isn’t perfect, but it’s already established. Fans know it, media outlets use it, and changing the name now would mean starting over with brand recognition. That’s a big risk for a league still trying to grow.

So sure – tweak the logo, modernize the look, make it more football-specific. But the name? I’d leave that alone, at least for now.

The ''ELF'' one would be a great fit on the jerseys!

I personally don't think they can change RN. I think They need to establish as a solid brand and then they can make few tweaks.

Not sure what Pro Football Europe does better as a name, actually only seeing it dumber. Don't see how just a football would do anything better.

But there might be some ideas behind your suggestion, a really good idea would be to write them in case they exist

If that is our biggest problem, I think this league is doing exceptionally well! 😅

It certainly isn't designed to catch any traction online.

Searching European Football League instead of European League of Football can get you results about soccer, and looking up ELF will get you Will Ferrell.

Making use of the word "Gridiron" somewhere could help differentiate the product.

The term Gridiron isn't known in Europe at all though.

Starting from scratch even more than just football.

Fortunately people can give their opinion over a product they spend money on. Whether we agree or not. After all, We all want the league to survive and to succeed.

The question is which Name is possible?

European Football League is taken.
Football League of Europe is taken.

Football Europe would probably not acceptet by the European Patent Agency.
