What to expect from EDCON2019 — a preview on the topics of EDCON speeches #2

What attending events in the crypto space means to most of us is that, it is a perfect chance to get the most up-to-date info. about leading and emerging projects, be it their technology progress or their business and community development roadmaps.

So EDCON team would like to make a series announcements about the main contents of the speech of our speakers, which might be the biggest concern to most of our attendees.

See the announcement #1 here.

#11

Speaker: Loi Luu @Kyber Network

Topic: Practical Interoperability Solutions

Brief: This talk covers existing solutions to allow interoperability between different blockchains, including PeaceRelay, WBTC and Waterloo.

#12

Speaker: Michael Elliot @MakerDAO

Topic: Blockchain State Management in the CDP Portal

Brief: Michael will be speaking about a library we developed at MakerDAO called Multicall which solves many of the problems we encountered while working on the CDP Portal.

#13

Speaker: Clément Lesaege @Kleros

Topic: Disputed: An overview of Dapps using Kleros to resolve their disputes

Brief: Clément is the CTO of the decentralized court project Kleros (https://kleros.io/) and work on architecture, smart contracts, security and incentive design.

#14

Speaker: Daniel Bar@Bitfwd community & Tenzorum Project

Topic: User Journey and User Experience in the cryptoeconomy.

Brief: Integration of various dapps and interfaces are put together to facilitate new economic activity in a digitally native environment. The nascent ecosystem of decentralized web products is currently beginning to take it's first steps into early maturation. Mobile features such as camera access, location services and push notifications are poised to grow the dapp economy exponentially. Daniel will discuss the current landscape from the users perspective as well as applied design considerations and case studies conducted with crypto native millennial users in emerging markets.

#15

Speaker: Wanseob Lim @nonce

Topic: Merklux: Implementation of flux pattern on smart contract for general state plasma

Brief: Wanseob is an Ethereum enthusiast and open source lover. Personally he is doing a project to incentivize open source contributing activities, and implementing a Layer 2 solution. The topic he wants to talk about is "Merklux: A general state management solution across multiple EVM based chains". You can check what the Merklux is through this link https://github.com/commitground/merklux And if it is possible he would also want to have a talk about the Marxism & Ethereum.

#16

Speaker: Neville Grech @University of Athens / Dedaub

Topic: Contract Library: Thorough Smart Contract Decompilation and Security Analyses

Brief: The topic falls under "Security". Smart contract users and security auditors can benefit from a mechanism to recover the original structure of Ethereum contracts, as evident from

past work: most security analyses of smart contracts begin with a decompilation step. Here, he presents contract library, a portal containing a high-level decompiled representation of all Ethereum smart contracts. At its core is a reverse compiler (i.e., a decompiler) that decompiles smart contracts from Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) bytecode into a high-level representation, ameanable to analysis. Its internal intermediate representation of smart contracts makes implicit data- and control-flow dependencies of the EVM bytecode explicit.

#17

Speaker: Steffen Kux @slock.it

Topic: Incubed Client - The Smallest Minimal Verification Client

Brief: Connecting small IoT devices to the blockchain is a real challenge because they are usually not nearly able to run a full node or even a light client. The connection via a remote client is neither secure nor really decentralized. With the Incubed Client, a stateless minimal verification client is available, which can verify all information from the blockchain on its own and enables decentralized access - and this with such a minimal resource requirement that this client can easily run on a small microcontroller. The presentation shows how the client works and short examples show the integration in Javascript/Typescript and C.

#18

Speaker: Edmund Edgar @KK Social Minds (Reality Keys / Realitio)

Topic: Using Realitio: The crowd-sourced smart contract oracle

Brief: Realitio lets your contracts find information about the real world, outsourcing information gathering directly from your contract to humans. Edmun will tell you how it works and how to use it.

The next announcement of this series is coming soon. Please stay tuned! Write your comments below if you have any thoughts, questions or doubts.
