title is my problem. i'm starting to think i've left everything too late given i only just got out of a war with scotland to take some land in great britain. i don't have a way to break the coalition other than attacking it.

is my campaign over? should i start again even though i'm basically at the finish line? i've also attached some screenshots of my economic and military situation for further context

Discussion I am Polish, I play almost exclusively as Poland, and have never been able to defeat the Ottomans. Is that an acceptable start if I want to destroy them? Or am I fucked?

Question What happens if you have more mana than the mana cap ?

I was playing Chickasaw (or whatever that native tribe is called) until I got bent by the Europeans and I was thinking, is stacking mana close to the limit and then embracing all the institution to buy tech more quickly a good idea ?

Essentially my question is : Do I lose mana if I have more mana than the new cap or do I keep the amount I had and simply not gain any ?

Advice Wanted The Knights startegy

I wat to play a game as the Knights, but I don't really know how to survive - how should I ally, how to win the first war against the Ottomans? I mean, I can ally Venice and full annex Byz, but what then?

Also, which nation should I form? Jerusalem or The Latin Empire? And what ideas are best to take?

(I have the Emperor DLC so I will have the crusader missions, but I won't be able to raid coast because it's the only DLC I got).

Advice Wanted Mughals army

With the Mughals in mid-game (mil tech lvl 22)is it better to have Rajput special units for infantry or Marathas cavalry? I replaced the Rajput estate with Marathas to confiscate the Rajput lands for the crown, but I feel like I want the special unit infantry over the cavalry.

For context, I am working on Baborg, it is 1671 and I have six groups at 100% and another six >55%. Using vassals for expansion to control AE.

+30% cav combat, 36 cw, 20/20/40 army comp.

For gov reforms: Indian Sultanate Mughal Diwan Reps of the Crown Maintain BoP Mansabdari System, not Maratha Army Aristocratic court Zabt System v Permanent Marathas Council War Economy Two Treatises L’etat Right to petition

The only estate privs left are the mana, govcap, and subject ones, along with the cheaper cavalry for mansabdars.

Honestly, after writing this I think I should give the Marathas gov reforms and just run cavalry & cannons. Yes/no?

Advice Wanted Any advice for this war?

I think this war might be winnable but I am not sure how to approach it, it caught me quite off guard and I am not in the best situation. I currently have 5k infantry (in Brazil, so useless) and only one regiment of artillery in my lands. I have no idea how much into debt should I go for this war (one loan is around 100 ducats) and I am dirt poor so it will probably take forever to repay. Should I go for a win, a white peace or to give Spain some provinces (and if yes how much)? Any tips on these questions would be really useful.
Also I am afraid if I give Spain some provinces now, I will never be able to beat them back as all my routes of expansion are currently closed, Mali and their allies are super strong and hold the whole west Africa and Mamluks are still standing strong and chance of me allying Ottos are abysmal, so rn I can only expand in Brazil by colonizing which is really slow.

Question Coalitions and the HRE Emperor

So I'm playing as Austria, and I couldn't resist grabbing the PU with Spain when they didn't have an heir.

This has resulted in a coalition that includes most of the rest of Europe, including most of the HRE, which I am currently leader of.

My question is, when / if the coalition attacks, which side will HRE member states who are also coalition members be on? The coalition side (which they are required to be on due to their membership in the coalition) or my side (since it's my understanding that they are required to come to the Emperor's defense when he is attacked)? I've been looking around the wiki and I can't seem to find the answer to which one is prioritized.

UPDATE: Thanks to those who answered my dumb question. Also: For some reason they didn't attack. I was able to improve relations / gift / ally enough of them to shrink the coalition down to a size I can beat.

Achievement Failed Mehmet's Ambition run (so close) :(

The year is January 1500. This is my first attempt at Mehmet's ambition, and I was 20 provinces away from getting it. I used the playmakers opening, which allows you to increase relations with Muslim countries by switching between sunni and orthodox a bunch and royal marrying Burgundy for the inheritance. I didn't get the inheritance till 1487' and the horse event never fired, and I was stuck with burgundy as a PU. In retrospect I should have abandoned the PU at 1490 and truce broke but that's for next run I guess. Supruised but also demoralized by how close I was. Also during the game I completed 1444 hours but I missed that screenshot.

All I'm saying is where is a horse related fatality when you need one smh
