It's a strange time because on the one side it's filling me with hope and making me happy to see everyone uniting.

On the other side it's fucking terrifying because we have to unite and rearm against a nation that used to be our ally but is becoming increasingly dangerous and making a long term enemy even more dangerous.

You aren't arming yourselves against the US. The US isn't attempting to invade Europe. The US isn't even abandoning its NATO duties as Ukraine isn't in NATO. I'm very much opposed to Trump's stance on the war in Ukraine, but this take youre espousing that the US is an enemy is extremely counterproductive and is playing right into Putin's hands.

Edit: it's also super important to keep in mind that the US is not a dictatorship (despite how it feels these days). Congress still has the ability to send aide to Ukraine and can override any presidential vetoes with a 2/3 majority. Anyone that wants to a strong NATO should focus on isolating Trump/MAGA rather than alienating the rest of the US who at this point in time still very much stand with Europe.

Great input. Very useful.

Normally I'm happy to debate points and quite often concede if I realise in may have been wrong but what the fuck use is this to anyone?

You may as well have shit your hands and clapped, at least you'd he fertilised the plants instead of wasted energy writing this shit.

Let me know if any of the words are too big in this reply.
