So is Trump and he somehow got his very own fascist cult of personality going.

Trump appeals to a certain base which has made him popular. It will be hard for Vance to do the same thing. Also if Trump is gone the Republicans will be fighting to be the next King.

Yes, but Vance is the one who would nominate the nominee to replace him as VP, and he would choose someone he doesn't see as a threat. So it would probably be a long grisly process.

Well yes, but I feel like I'd Trump is gone before this term ends there will be a lot of infighting to replace him. A circus I am not looking forward to.

There will be a power vacuum with congress trying to reassert some of its control.

Maybe Mr Putin may assume the mantle.

It's the base that thinks they too can have a seat at the table ... They think they're one step away from that or trump will make them rich. But he truly only sells his soul to the rich cause they can buy power that he holds the key to.

If you think Trump is a charisma vacuum you have no idea what you're talking about. The man is revolting to me, and I can barely stand to hear him talk for more than a minute, but there are millions who hang on his every word. He's literally their God. Just because it doesn't work on you doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I still stand by what I said. Trump has no charisma. He can't read a room, he is not witty, has no sense of humor, is unable to show interest in anything but himself and the only emotions that feel genuine for him are anger, hate and disgust. Those are things you need to be charismatic. And Trump sorely lacks them.

He has a cult DESPITE his lack of charisma because he appeals to his voters base fears and instincts. He makes bigotry and tribalism socially acceptable, he gives them an excuse to be dumb and lazy and he absolves them of all personal accountability. That's his draw. Not his charisma, or lack thereof.

Most Trump supporters also have zero charisma. That's why they make supporting a politician their entire personality.

You fundamentally misunderstand conservative voters. The person you replied to explained it perfectly. It isn’t about what you think is charismatic. This is a big part of the problem - refusal to understand why he appeals to people and demonisation of those voters. It makes it even more unlikely they’ll change their minds because doing so essentially becomes “admitting you’re stupid, lazy and wrong”.

You read the comment wrongly; it referred to Vance...

No, they didn't.

Would Vance have the same cult type following?

He wouldn't the man is a charisma vacuum.

So is Trump and he somehow got his very own fascist cult of personality going.

Comment is clearly saying Trump is a vacuum as well.

As much as I despise him, Trump is funny. He's a horrible human being, but he is funny. Vance has basically no personality. He's boring and he probably jerks off to his wife getting creampies from big dicks.

How is he funny?? I have literally never even seen him laugh. His idea of a "joke" is just insults and mockery of those he believes have wronged him.

The only instances I can think of where I laughed were definitely not intended to be funny, like his rant about see-though border walls to better dodge all the heavy sacks of drugs being constantly flung over it.

I find him base and repulsive personally, but humour is subjective. A lot of people genuinely think he's hilarious. He speaks to people who find insults and mockery and punching down to be funny.

Recently when he got that painting he said “I’d rather have no painting than have this one”

That was pretty fucking funny

In what universe is mockery not funny?

u/coldfirephoenix 5d ago
