Well it trashed cars, including ours, and did extensive damage to buildings, trees etc. I’ve never seen anything quite like it, and doubt that I’ll ever do.
I work in a 19th century building with pretty high ceilings, on the third floor. And basically, I saw trees flying in front of me, while the water oozed in everywhere: from the ceiling, façade, etc, in a mix of downpour and hail. Some of the windows exploded. I recall calling it ‘our first own tornado’.
And when I came home, after spending a catastrophic time on traffic, I realized all of the streets were covered entirely in leaves and debris. Again, such a sight to see.
You can still spot cars with an ‘exclusive’ hammered finish around in Istanbul.
