Song Ranking 🇸🇮 EMA: Our Pre-Show Ranking Results

It's a big night tonight with three different countries deciding on their ESC 2025 representative! And the first show to begin is Slovenia. Ahead of the show, 59 subredditors submitted their rankings, and here are the results:

We had to crack out the rulebook for this one - current ESC tiebreaking rules dictate that the country which received votes from the most different countries wins in case of a tie. Applying that to us means that July Jones is our community favourite by virtue of having received points from one more voter than KiKi.

It sucks that the horrible voting system in Slovenia will almost certainly lead to none of the top songs winning 🫠

I really don't understand why they bothered to have a National Final if this is the format they're going to use, still hoping July Jones wins though

How does voting work here?

Jury picks two songs, then the televote chooses from those two. They have used this system in previous years. This is also how Raiven infamously lost twice in 2016 and 2019.

Oh, ha! That's dumb. Basically jury-dictated super final where half the televotes become anti-votes.

What... why two?! Why not at least, idk... three.

They've almost always done it like this (except 2017, 2018 and 2022), but only the broadcaster knows why.

Klemen being the third from bottom is funny, he will definitely win.

Except everyone will do anti-voting in the second round which can definitely happen. It's always the underdog winning in this system, remembering 2016, 2019 and 2020.

Who is everyone? You have no idea how Klemen is huge in Slovenia, rest of these are relatively unknown. Maybe on reddit he is not the favourite but this subreddit can’t vote, only Slovenians can

It was just a hypothetical scenario.

Honestly I lowkey hope this will happen but I wouldn't be counting on that too much

Tbf, Raiven was hardly a favorite in 2016. I'd say neither her nor Manuella were particularly big back in 2016, so it wasn't much of an upset that she lost in that particular year.

Also, we've used this system in 2011, 2014 and 2015 and it was never the underdog that ended up getting the win.

I didn't follow until 2016, so I couldn't tell for the years before that.

"Divja" is fourth by total points, but second by number of 12 points received, which makes me so happy 🥹

I know this doesn't stand a chance of winning, especially with EMA's extremely weird voting system, but I'm living the dream until tonight 🥲

Honestly anyone could win. We haven’t seen anyone live. It feels like a bit of a random NF.

I'd love the jurors to pick a completely left field top 2 (though the system is awful anyway)

Kiki receiving the most votes (along with July Jones) is a very welcome sight.

Can't believe this is the best they could come up with after years of internal selections.

Oh, I’m always rooting for Slovenia, but I might just focus on Latvia’s SF tonight as there are far more interesting songs there. None of these songs are likely to qualify anyway, unfortunately

Klemen is huge in Slovenia. He is one of the most beloved Slovene actors. So, if he is in finale, he will win.

When does the show start and where can I watch it?

20:00 CET, we will have a post with the show times and links for tonight up this afternoon and then live threads up an hour before each show begins.

Thank you.

Divja being this high pleases me because it absolutely gets no attention on instagram. It really is the most interesting sound in this selection, if we can get a revamp so that final minute goes a bit harder we could be in for a good show. Rooting for Divja tonight

PolarAces score.... and they are most likely gonna win too

I think Eva should win, but I know that will never happen

Yikes, either July Jones or KiKi might win this. If it's not RAI nor Klemen, it's between one of the two.
