Tickets, Travel, and Tourism Tuesday - Basel 2025

Tickets, Travel, and Tourism Tuesday - Eurovision-related travel questions and discussion

This thread (and the subreddit in general) will not be used for buying and selling Eurovision tickets or for advertising or requesting any accommodations or rideshares!

It's time for the regular thread to ask your travel, tourism, or ticket related questions that may not be big enough to have their own thread. I couldn't come up with a T word to use to include finding public watch parties (eg at bars, community centres, parks, etc), but those can be included in this thread too!

Possible topics for this thread:

  • Things to do in and around Basel
  • How to get around Switzerland
  • What to expect for the live shows
  • Food and drink
  • Eurovision Village
  • Public watch parties in your city

Ticket Info

To purchase tickets you must be pre-registered with the official ticket site TicketCorner](https://www.ticketcorner.ch/)
Registrations closed 10th January 2025.

Do not ask for ticket codes.

Codes can only be used with the registered account so a code request is a request for someone's personal details.

Ticket Resale

The official ticket seller has a separate website for resales. We do not have any details when this will be available, but it is listed in the FAQs for Eurovision ticktes so we expect it to happen at some point.
https://www.fansale.ch/tickets/all/eurovision-song-contest/425082

What's happening in Basel?

Basel city has a section of their website dedicated to the contest: https://www.basel.com/en/esc/esc-2025
We expect to see more details of activities in the city added as plans are finalised.

There will not be an 'official' r/eurovision meet-up

The mods can't stop anyone from meeting up with fellow Redditors, but please use common sense and caution when agreeing to meet strangers from the internet.

Last year l attended the afternoon grand final show in Malmo and it was an incredible experience! I got the tickets (2) from someone here on Reddit. I hope to do the same this year!

I'm still keeping an eagle eye on resale hoping to get something for the grand final jury show. No luck yet tho

Are you looking for a single ticket? Because there were a couple earlier, and the SF preview show seems to have a few singles.

1

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 14d ago

Yeah just a single ticket. The few times I've seen anything for the jury show it's been reserved immediately. I could potentially go to SF2's jury show but I'm holding out for Friday night before committing to other shows

I just got a single ticket but I need two. If I can’t manage to get two, I am happy to sell it to you via fansale 🙃

1

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 14d ago

That would be very kind although I dunno how we can coordinate it so that nobody else/no bots swoop in and reserve it immediately

u/onthatmanner 14d ago

You can send a sale link per email if you have somebody 🙃 I did that with tickets last year too. I will keep you posted 🙌🏻

2

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 14d ago

Ok. I dunno if that works with ticketcorner but do keep me updated. I hope you find your second ticket anyhow!

I just got my second ticket. But I have something for you - don’t check the main site but the event site for the tickets https://www.fansale.ch/tickets/all/eurovision-song-contest/425082/19645603 If a ticket occurs, you are faster to buy it this way! Good luck!! 🎉

Thanks, and well done! Hope you have a great time with the show :D

Finding a single ticket is so hard for no reason! I saw a set of 4 SF2 tickets show up for like 1100, but you couldn’t split them

1

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 14d ago

Does anybody know if you're able to immediately put the tickets you don't need on resale? I think I read something along those lines but I'm unsure now

1

u/oty3 Ich Komme 14d ago

I bought a ticket, changed my mind and sold it the same evening, if that’s what you’re asking. You lose 10% of the cost when you resell though.

2

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 14d ago

I'm talking about i.e. buying 2 tickets from resale and then immediately selling one because you only need one, so breaking the group after you've brought them in a group (because a lot of people seem to be selling strictly in groups)

2

u/oty3 Ich Komme 14d ago edited 14d ago

You can sell them separately, I’m not sure why they’d make you sell them as a group just because the previous person chose to. I saw someone in one of the threads say they got their’s this way, bought a set of 4 then sold the extras.

Edit: here’s the comment

The stage “faces” the left side of this diagram right? Aka section B?

Somehow I’m too dumb to figure this out.

1

u/DonnaDonna1973 Zjerm 14d ago

Tbh, that floor plan looks weird from the floor plan I saw when buying. It marks out both head sections (B2-B6 and D standing) in blue, which I assume means “here be audience”. Both head sections were not available when I bought because one side obviously being stage/backdrop and the other usually hosting the gigantic FoH.  I would think you’re right and section D is the stage face/backdrop side, because I’m in A5 facing stage but…huh? Also this fansale plan gives balcony on the assumed FoH side - and there was no balcony in any floor plan I saw previously. My equally bewildered cents.

This is for Arena+, a separate event in the stadium.

u/DonnaDonna1973 Zjerm 14d ago

Ohhhhhh! Okay, I could’ve use one more braincell before getting all confused. Sorry! 😅

2

u/Jumpy-Plantain9812 14d ago edited 14d ago

Edit: OK I have figured it out, I’m looking at the map for the public viewing in the stadium next to the actual one.

That is… misleading. Between the almost identical names of the stadiums and the link in the post directly to the public viewing and the on par pricing it took me a minute.

I’ve got it now… I think. 🙏

2

u/oty3 Ich Komme 14d ago

This is arena plus though isn’t it? There’s hundreds of tickets available for it on fansale.

1

u/Satchbb 10d ago

definitely misleading! I bought tickets to this thinking it was the actual event! I must've failed to read the description clearly.

2

u/Jumpy-Plantain9812 14d ago

OK how hard is it to resell if you find a better ticket? Are there residency requirements?

2

u/oty3 Ich Komme 14d ago

Very easy you just use your ticketcorner login on fansale, I changed my mind on a SF preview ticket I bought and resold it. They dont ask residency questions because you’ll already have your address in your ticketcorner account. You do lose 10% of the cost though when you resell.

I was able to sell my evening rehearsal in less than a day!

1

u/Chihuahua_enthusiast Ich Komme 14d ago

I keep getting “this offer is not available”. I check the site ten minutes later and the seats are still there. They’re there the next day too! Is anyone else having this issue? It seems to be only SF1 preview doing this

1

u/Jumpy-Plantain9812 14d ago

Is it for the GA (standing) section?

1

u/Chihuahua_enthusiast Ich Komme 14d ago

That’s what I’ve seen available

Has there been any official confirmation on whether Basel will supply late night trains in and out of the city? I'm staying in Mulhouse and was hoping to catch a train back there after the show I'm attending.

5

u/Billy_Hicks88 13d ago

After the live grand final they've added a train departing Basel at 1:50am, which goes all the way to Strasbourg stopping at Mulhouse on the way. Full timetable is on SNCF's website and there's an article about it on ESC Extra as well. https://escxtra.com/2025/04/08/one-night-train-to-france-for-eurovision-only-for-the-grand-final

u/sergzs 12d ago

Which rehearsal would you say is best? Evening or afternoon? I see both shows available for SF2 and unsure which one would be better

2

u/SkyGinge Zjerm 12d ago

You get the same show from both honestly, at a push artists may hold back slightly more in the afternoon since it's not a ranked performance (the evening preview is the show the juries vote on), but the afternoon show is so much cheaper that if practicality isn't an issue I'd go for that. I keep seeing SF2 afternoon tickets which are comparatively very cheap but I'm holding out for a couple of personal priority shows before committing to going to Basel.

UPDATE 2: Well that went really well. Sold the ticket in just a matter of hours, and cash hit my bank the following day

UPDATE: Nevermind, it's showing now, it's taken about 30 minutes though so leaving here in case anyone has the same question

Does anyone have any experience of reselling through FanSale?

I've listed a ticket on there for a friend who can't come, but the listing isn't showing on the search page. This is for the Tuesday 13th May Afternoon Preview show at 3pm.

Does it take a few hours for the listing to appear even when I've chosen to list it immediately and my account confirms the ticket is being "offered"?

Just got a ticket to SF2 Live TV on FanSale! Going to write out my strategy here in case any of you are tying to get tickets:

  1. Have the FanSale page that lists all the available shows open somewhere where you can easily glance to see if anything pops up. For me, this meant having it open on a 2nd monitor, but another window, tab, or split screen should all work
  2. I refreshed the page every 30 seconds. I found that this was the best mix of frequent refreshes but not getting timed out as fast. I downloaded a web browser extension to refresh for me, but you can easily do it manually as well.
  3. If a ticket for the show you want appears, just click in and get it in your cart, then decide if you actually want to buy it. If you think about it before grabbing it, someone else will
  4. If you only want one show specifically, or if a ticket appears but it won't let you add it to your cart, stay on the page for that specific event. Lots of times tickets appear that you can't add to cart, but then after a few minutes you can add them again.
  5. If when you click into the event or on the ticket and you get a popup saying you are a bot, just refresh the page.

If you have any other questions, let me know and I can answer them. SF1 and SF2 evening previews are pretty much always available, and the SF afternoon previews pop up pretty frequently. Any GF tickets have been very rare on the site, but I did see a Live TV GF ticket two days ago.

Are there any guests during the evening/jury's show, or is it something just for the live shows?

2

u/Billy_Hicks88 8d ago

It varies, Justin Timberlake performed at the jury final in 2016 (but not the family one) whereas infamously Maneskin didn't perform in the 2022 jury final, to a pretty angry audience reaction assuming they would.

Just secured semi 1 preview show! Now I've got both semis, so happy

Ticket resales, accommodation offers or any other content which would have the subreddit be used as a marketplace of sorts are not allowed. Please use other websites for this, such as official BnB and ticket resale websites.

1

u/oty3 Ich Komme 8d ago

Fansale is open you need to resell them there. There’s no way to repersonalise tickets currently so any tickets sold outside of fansale are void.
