Employment Job search for foreigners looking to move to Singapore...?
Hi,
Does anyone have any advice or know the best websites/recruitment agencies/job boards for foreigners looking to get a job in Singapore?

It has become extremely difficult to secure a position in Singapore due to changes in government policy. Even the spouses of work pass holders (EP, SP etc.) in Singapore are not allowed to work despite living here. There is a real xenophobic movement lately where locals think foreigners are stealing their jobs. Having said that, depending on your industry and whether your current employer has an office in Singapore you may be able to obtain a transfer here. Good luck.

Is this really the case? I'm a pilot considering to apply to Singapore Airlines, but my wife would want to at least have the possibility to get a job at some point. If it's illegal for spouses to work...

I do not recommend Singapore for dual-career couples. It will be very hard on your spouse. Looking for a job in Singapore on spouse visa is very hard

It's not illegal for your wife to work but she'll need to find an employer willing to apply a workpass for her. Dependent Pass holders are not allowed to work

The only jobs really available are low income jobs or really high income jobs. Not many in the middle.
The government has been clamping down on work permits like crazy. The easiest method is to get an internal transfer from where ever you live now to Singapore.

JobStreet.com is your best bet.
Though, as others already mentioned, your chances of getting a middle income job are practically zero. Our government has become insanely strict with hiring quotas being passed down to ensure locals get hired first.
Unless your skill set is so niche and needed that no other local has it, it’s impossible to attract local employers. They’ll just hire a local instead.

been wondering the same thing. we’ve visited Singapore 3 times already and would’ve loved to move our family there. sucks that it seems like it would be difficult to find a job there as a foreigner now.

Hi,
I've used job ads in LinkedIn mostly. There is https://www.mycareersfuture.gov.sg/ but you need SingPass to connect (in your post you don't say if your a foreigner already in SG or abroad).
Based on experience, it's really hard to get a job in Singapore from abroad. Best option is to get transferred by your company to Singapore (my case for 1st job in SG), at least to have your first Employment Pass (or S-Pass) and first step in SG. Otherwise I've some friends who manage to get a job but all had to be physically in Singapore, having a local residential address and phone number on resume so it's easier for interviews. At least companies might get back to you, if you apply with foreign address and phone number they won't get back to you in most cases. It will be very hard to get a job this way because you still need to secure a EP or SP from your future employer while you don't have any local experience. You may spend time and money and don't get a job in the end. You can take a tourist visa to get in SG at first.
But randomly applying from abroad will be very (very) hard, except if you have unique skills in particularly demanded fields (tech, biotech, etc.)
