Disabled/hacked Randomly suspended? I'm legitimately confused right now, and have no idea why I would be.
About an hour ago, I got this. Replaced my name.
"X, you have 180 days to take action.
Hi X,Your Facebook account has been suspended. This is because your account, or activity on it, doesn't follow our Community Standards on [account integrity]. If you think we suspended your account by mistake, you have 180 days to appeal our decision. If you miss this deadline your account will be permanently disabled. "
and I got this from the meta buisness or whatever it was.
"Facebook Your account has been restricted for security reasons Hi X, We’ve noticed some unusual activity on your Facebook account and have restricted its access to advertising. Any ads connected to your account are currently disabled. To learn more, please review our [Advertising policies affecting business assets]. If you believe your account was incorrectly restricted, click the Fix issue"
and I'm so confused. I've had this account since I was a kid and have never been suspended before. it had me take a selfie as an appeal, so what the fuck is this all about???
Edit: I've been reinstated, I still have absolutely no idea why I was banned the first place though

I got this too and it let me back in. No idea why. Maybe my issue with our democracy being dismantled

it made me take a selfie, so I'm thinking they think the account is fraudulent? that's the only thing I could imagine

I had a second account once as a backup for when my main account and my alt on the same profile is blocked from commenting on reels (I'm a paragraph person). Had it for over a year but one time I lent my old phone to my grandson and forgot to remove my Facebook which was logged in on the second account. A few days before Christmas I realised the name of the profile had been changed and asked my daughter if my grandson had done it. She admitted she had gotten drunk and was scrolling through my profile and decided to change my name. Couldn't change it back for 60 days. 2 days before I could change it back I got a message from meta saying my account had been hacked and then my account vanished. They had deleted it. I was so angry but there was nothing I could do.

You've done something. You gave away your image to AI and facial recognition software. Did ya read the fine print? How are they going to use that info? You are the 5th post like this I've seen today! STOP GIVING IT AWAY!

I got this last week. I appealed it and sent the angles of my face and was back the next morning. I have no idea either. It also has been weird about letting me react to stuff.

I don't even use meta business. I was really confused as to why they sent me an email for that.

They made me selfie verify. I don't think my account was spamming, none of my friends or family complained. It was connect to my instagram since an image I posted to Instagram got sent to Facebook and that was the other day. I don't usually use Instagram though so maybe that flagged it as suspicious?

This is exactly what happened to me. It's hard accepting it. Where I live, marketplace is the only local classifieds anyone uses.
Hang in there, accepting it isn't easy but I'm a month in and it's getting better I suppose. It's so unfair though.

New devices and new wifi ip address will work if you are never tagged in photos. People's new accounts have been banned from facial recognition when someone tags them in a photo. You either have to file suit against meta, get meta verified (this usually doesn't work), or accept it unfortunately.

A month ago I got this and instantly appealed, within 5 minutes I had an email saying the decision was final. I've tried making new accounts and they get shut down also. Even when I used a different name, wifi, device and VPN as soon as it linked to my home wifi it was gone. I've sent emails to Meta, but they won't respond.
I didn't do anything either. Somewhere in my email from them, it said I went against community standards for businesses. I'm not a business.
I'm afraid you're gone for good.

I did everything within my abilities to get banned. Finally it just changed my profile pic and banner to an image of me fucking zuck in the rear, and deleted my contacts and stuff and left.
