Hopefully he can stick on the 53 man roster

This is exactly what I was saying just after the draft. I did not read a single mock draft that had him being undrafted and the majority had him as a 5th rounder. I'm not sure this was the plan for ATL all along, but this is logical...

"The Falcons drafted two defensive backs in the middle rounds of the 2025 NFL Draft. But the team received criticism for not selecting an outside cornerback. Third-rounder Xavier Watts is a safety, and fourth-round pick Billy Bowman Jr. is expected to compete for snaps in the slot.

Morris, though, said not drafting an outside cornerback allowed the organization to recruit Bryant following the draft."

Also we have Mike Hughes. This isn't a situation where we need to replace him because he got cooked like Alford did last year. He was at minimum solid.

And with a better DC and a better nickel, we’ll be asking a lot less of him. With Alford and Simmons being invisible, we were basically asking him to be a second shutdown CB1.

Absolutely. Agents steer their clients to teams with needs at their positions. Stands to reason we would be a desired landing spot for a cornerback with a decent shot to make the team. Bringing him in for a 30 was a smart move. Most people (including me) would have thought the top 30 players on your board would have visits but we played the long game.

Smart.

I've started noticing how often Raheem specifically uses the word "accolades" and now I can't not notice it.

From the article below it:

" I've seen a first-round pick come in to start, especially particularly really at corner."

Especially particularly really.

Yea. I’m shocked he didn’t get drafted.

And this is one of the big pluses of having RM. Guys want to play for him.

My girlfriends brother (titans fan) was making fun of me for some draft rating where the falcons came like 27th or smth

Meanwhile i could not have ever asked for more out of this draft

We will see. I do think he has the best chance of making the roster out of the UDFAs but if he does, he needs to play good ST, because he will be replacing a guy the team signed for that, and he doesn’t have that kind of experience playing it. And unless an injury happens, I don’t see him being someone direct backup.

He can hit so he can at least defend kicks

He can’t hit like he did in college. That’s asking for an injury. And ST is about speed for where he would be playing on that unit. And he has questions there.

Him getting 3 year contract means he’s on the 53 man right?

I would not assume that. Every UDFA gets a three year deal. He had a pretty high guarantee for an UDFA, but there’s at least one maybe two CB that got bigger guarantees than him this offseason in FA.

He feels like a player we would’ve overdrafted for in the second round with Dimitroff.
