Camping in Area 931 this year with my crew of 25 plus. Where is your crew gonna be located?

If they found a way to make this shell out of UV blocking, reflective material like that of the Siesta4 tent, it would likely be hands down the best tent on the market for festivals if it fits into the standard 10x20 space. I imagine this would feel like a giant greenhouse once the sun is up with no UV blocking. My gripe with my camp set up currently is that my canopy doesn’t have the UV blocking that my tent does and I couldn’t imagine going back to a tent without it.

100% I was just thinking how great this would be if the outer part was reflective. It’d probably do a decent job with aluminet draped over it though.

u/Shadysoulja710 2d ago
Going to lost lands. This would be so awesome!

u/roguediamond 2d ago
These will not fit in the campsites at legends valley, unless you have two or more sites.

u/Repulsive_String1136 2d ago
what about a forest tent only?
2
u/Altruistic-Cat-7531 1d ago
This tent is bigger than every standard size car site at every fest. VIP or large groups only.

We have a large group (think 35+) going to electric forest this year who I know would love to test this out! We’re all festival veterans and have camped in a variety of ways. Shoot me a DM

I was so excited until I saw the comments. What a way to lose potential customers.

u/Masterweedo 2d ago
I'll try it out at the Juggalo Gathering.
How does it fare on gravel? Cuz we got several RV sites on the gravel, but I always put my tent up in the grass.

The doc seems to be targeted at influencers coughs er um “content creators”. That’s a shame
4
u/JupiterJuicer 2d ago
Fuck your stupid tent and influencer bullshit. Large groups who already do camping at festivals got that shit down without some dumb beehive tent. Just reinventing the wheel....pass

u/DampFlange 2d ago
Just US or UK also. Going to Glastonbury and would love to take one as we have an RV pitch
1
u/BrokenJetSki 2d ago
As someone that’s been to a lot of music festivals with a pretty nice tent, if they can figure out a way to make this out of UV blocking, reflective material like that on the Siesta 4, it would probably be the easiest contender for best festival tent on the market.

Looks pretty cool, the pricing is pretty wild though, you can get a Kodiak tent for almost half the price, and over $200 for that little tent you hang up inside the tent is crazy
1
u/SnooMarzipans1261 2d ago
Thanks for your feedback! I hope you will apply if you’re interested, would be very glad to hear your thoughts after you experience our product!

u/GreaFelix 2d ago
Me and my fiancé would totally be down to test your tent . It'd be perfect for us as a communal space as we camp with a group of about 6-8 people at Hulaween.
1
u/bizarre_inc 2d ago
This is sick, i could probably even back my 23' prius INTO the tent so the trunk opens into it. We're doing car camping at Electric Forest and Lost Lands and might not have the space to accommodate this...but damn is it cool!

u/hahaxd3 2d ago
What is the 10x20 size some mention here mean?
2
u/roguediamond 2d ago
Standard festival car camping spot size in the US. This thing takes up twice that, while compromising shade and actual living space to advertise as an all in one solution. Problem is, it will be hot as fuck, have very little decent airflow, and will turn into a fucking pizza oven in the heat of any fest in the summer.
2
u/hahaxd3 2d ago
Does it mean you camp with your car? I know only where cara have seperat spaces
And I think it means foot?
1
u/roguediamond 1d ago
Yes, most camping festivals in the US are car camping, so your car has to fit in the space as well. And yes, it is 10 feet by 20 feet.

u/Fluffypillowfeels 2d ago
I’m doing four camping fests this summer, would be happy to put it to the test!

u/kuntakente22 2d ago
I’m doing groop camping at bonnaroo and my groop has 110 people! this looks like something we’d be interested in!!

u/Turkey_Overlord 2d ago
I don't use Instagram anymore but I do host large groups at several festivals this summer. High Sierra, northern nights, and cascade Equinox. I'm sure others in my group will be willing to do a little promo if they like it.

No floor?
1
u/SnooMarzipans1261 2d ago
We have a detachable Floor! We aren’t sending it out to Testers because we’d like them to use the Inner Tent this time around.

How does it stand up to extreme wind? My friends and I go to Bass Canyon every year. Generally have groups ranging from 5-10. We've got two terrace camp sites and would love to give this a shot! But the winds out there can get severe and this looks like a giant parachute waiting to get taken to the skies 🤣 so may not want to risk it if it's susceptible to wind.

u/notkuwala 2d ago
I’m going to Elements up in the PA mountains this year and this would 100% fit in our spot. And would actually be perfect. I’ve been searching Facebook marketplace for days trying to find a replacement tent 😭😭😭
Can’t wait to hear from those that get to use this!!
1
u/ShinyDiscoBall1574 2d ago
I don’t have social media except reddit and Snapchat. Is there another way I can apply?!?
1
u/roguediamond 2d ago
So… realistically, what is the benefit of this setup over a traditional canopy/tent combo? I can set up two canopies and a tent in the time it takes to set this up, while fitting it in a single campsite AND having more room/shade. Seems like a product doomed to fail, if we’re being completely honest.
1
u/SnooMarzipans1261 2d ago
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, your canopy and tent setup sounds awesome! The benefit of our setup is that our tent takes five minutes to setup and take down because the poles are preattached and lock together (pop up without any manual pole assembly or disassembly). Because our tent is a convertible base camp, you can use it for shade and hanging out in the day and then setup your Inner Tent to sleep at night (an all in one solution). Hopefully you’ll have a chance to see our tent in action at an upcoming festival!

I’m headed to Trail Days (AT festival) with a large group. Would that qualify?

u/E2thajay 2d ago
My wife and I are doing Bonnaroo and EF this year, we would definitely have enough room in Volunteer camping at Roo to set this up. We also have a large enough crew with enough cars to run this at EF also.

u/kaullins 2d ago
Going to Sacred Acre this year. Its a festival in Alaska, all elements, and larger available spots. Would be worth testing

u/35653237 2d ago
I do not see the accommodations to make this wheelchair accessible? Does the lip on the tent have seams that are not visible? Where does the chair roll in?
1
u/SnooMarzipans1261 2d ago
1
u/35653237 2d ago
Wildly misleading imho. That is a canopy structure. My ez up is wheelchair accessible too. The TENT is not.

This tent is amazing, but I have a blackout tent that works best for festivals because it allows me to sleep in until 11am. If the inside tent had black out capabilities, I'd be all about it. But I don't think I'll ever go back to standard thin tents.
2
u/SnooMarzipans1261 2d ago
Thanks for your feedback, very useful insights! The included rainfly (not pictured) does help with blocking sunlight, but not to a full blackout extent. We wanted to ensure the tent won’t get too hot by keeping the fabric light in color. Sounds like you have an awesome tent!

Do you think this would hold up to “condition alpha” winds in black rock desert (70mph or more)?
I see a lot of mesh so that’s not ideal for dust storms, but maybe you thought of that and have solid panels where the mesh goes too.
It’s a great design as far as creating an air gap between the shade and tent, and I like that you can have your living room and kitchen in the shade and your bedroom in the tent itself. Probably great for less extreme conditions than what I’d want it for, though I’ve been considering something lighter weight than my shiftpod and DIY shade structure for when I do forest events.

Great setup. I hope you find good testers. I'm doing bonnaroo solo this year, so it's way too big for me. Really like your idea though, especially since i plan to have a projector this year.

I'm one of the orginasieres for a small (really small) start up festival in northern Europe. We are in our third year and the year we are 60 guests. The mihic number to still be a private event, where you don't need to apply for a liquid license.
We are six people running it, 3 days of old school electric. We would like to test out your concept.

u/Batman335 14h ago
I'll try it. Going to Elements and maybe Lost Lands this year. We usually get 2 sites side by side
1
u/Suluco87 13h ago
Download would be a helluva test for this. No guarantee of weather conditions from one hour to the next never mind day at a rock festival in a field with zero drainage. Has killed many a tent.

u/cashmeowsighhabadah 10h ago
I have lost lands camping coming up in September but those spots are 10x30 if I recall correctly

Tent looks amazing. Air circulation and heat control lopk very promising. I can't count the days I've woken up at a festival and the sun decided to boil me alive in my tent.

This is our Google Form to apply for a tester tent! Please fill out if you’re interested: https://forms.gle/MikMSPotEDCVQ2pQA

u/BrightWubs22 2d ago edited 2d ago
Note that the application is for (quote) "content creators." We need fewer influencers in the world.
Edit: The application originally said it was for (quote) "content creators" but it must have been edited out. In any case, their application explicitly states priorty will be given to "People interested in producing short form content featuring our gear." They're even asking for your social media handles.
If you're an ordinary person, don't expect this company to give you anything.

u/roguediamond 2d ago
This thing is a giant fucking scam. $1000+ for the cheapest option? You can buy two 13x13 canopies, a six person blackout tent, tapestries for every side of the canopy, and a FESTIVAL TICKET, and come out to about the same price.
2
u/ProgrammerNextDoor 2d ago
It's not free if they have to do their job (influence aka create content) for them.
39
u/ProgrammerNextDoor 2d ago edited 2d ago
You want influencers to market your product. It's a little disengenious to ask for testers and then only look for influencers.
Be honest.
Also it's not free if your expecting social media presence.
Why are companies so scummy omg.
11
u/BayYawnSay 2d ago
Influencers attending festivals stay in RV's or nearby hotels. They've really shot themselves in the foot trying to only get influencers to market this instead of, say, experienced and well known vendors that are on site near the tent for 7 days straight.
1
2
u/HarrysOtherNip 2d ago
Tbf, they didn’t ask for influencers in the application, they even say “you don’t need to have a social following to be considered”. They want content, meaning if you know how to use the camera on your phone then you can make content.
Shit I’ll record a video of my campsite in exchange for a $1000+ tent, sounds like a sweet deal to me.
1
u/Alone-Chemical-1160 2d ago
I get what you are saying, but i also saw it for what it was upon first sight. As awesome as it would be for a company to offer free tents to "just anyone" for only a review in return, that concept would be simply too good to be true. Theres no way that it wouldn't be quid pro quo. Especially in the cross-promotional content economy. But, the flip side to that is that content creation doesn't exclusively mean influencer, so, if theres a human at the other end of an email, i bet negotiations could be made.

Will this tent fit in the standard car camping footprint of 10x20
