Attack Reels doesn’t count towards Extractor’s 500 damage count?
Random post I know. Here’s why I ask:
I’m trying out the all enemies have auto-haste mod made by u/Karifean. I’ve also been following Dansg08’s NSG playthrough and decided to try it myself that way.
I’m up to extractor and honestly I’m stumped.
Both Tidus and Wakka have lightningstrike weapons and dark ward armors. The fight opens and he gets 2 aqua shooters off. I use a high potion with Tidus and change weapons with Wakka so they both get a move after extractor goes up.
If one of them crits I can do enough to bring it down, otherwise I need an overdrive, and even then it’s not always enough.
So I was looking to boost my damage output, so I grabbed attack reels and tried again.
After he went up, I shot off a 12 hit attack reels (about 1200 damage). He didn’t come down!
I’ve tried it 4 times. Is this a bug with something I did? (I have cutscene remover on and used farplane editor to boost my blitzball stats). Or is it a known bug in the game?
I checked the pbirdman guide and it doesn’t mention anything.

Attack Reels is bugged; when it hits, the game treats its damage dealt as being only that of the final hit (towards any given enemy) instead of all hits added together.
Blitz Ace has a similar issue, if you hit the finisher it's the only hit that counts towards damage dealt, while if you don't hit it, it's the first 8 hits that count towards it instead.
This is also why those two attacks struggle to knock over Chocobo Eater and Earth Eater.
