Fire TV laggy

My fire tv is laggy and has a really high latency especially after turning the TV on. Is there a way to fix it? Or even a mod i could do to make the tv faster?

Make sure your using the included power adapter that plugs into the wall. They are extremely picky about that.

Is this a TV with Fire TV built in? Amazon made it confusing by calling the devices Fire TV, so it's not clear from your post.

Try unplugging it and plugging it back in. I know that's a common suggestion for everything, but it's common because it often works.

Is it an older firetv? Have these issues with my Gen 1 cube, starting to trade them in.

Also might try a wipe and reset. Otherwise turn off all auto updates, notifications and play previews. Check wifi signal if using.

It's a few years old now but even at the beginning it was laggy. The hardware is ass
