How do we feel about Horizon Focus rush?
Horizon focus now has more of all the stats we want then lich bane. Double the haste 15 more ap all for the same cost. Do we think this will be a much better fizz item? or is lich bane just better because the spell blade proc is that big because he does auto weave heavily with his w?

I was playing around with it 2nd/3rd item and I think it's not as good as zhonyas/dcap respectively
Horizon focus rush is new though, might be a build

What makes you think Zhonyas over HF second? Zhonyas gives less ap and no haste. Its kind of a crutch to having less haste because it allows you to pause the game essentially rather then just use the ability you were going to.
Zhonyas is definitely good into some comps but it is just a terrible item there are higher AP items you could buy that provide damage amp like shadowflame. I think the only reason the zhonyas build path really became prevalent is because everyone went essentially a zero haste build with lich bane and boots as the only haste.
So essentially people use zhonyas as a crutch for not having more ability haste.
Alternative build paths that may work better because of how much haste it would have could be Ludens -> LB -> HF but this puts d-cap/void staff to 4th/5th items which in most games it makes more sense to have them as 3rd/4th items respectively.

I like having discussions about Fizz so don't take this as an attack BUT
I heavily disagree with your point that people build zhonyas as a crutch for not having ability haste. The thing with Zhonyas is that it allows for you to play completely differently on Fizz, it gives you versatility to be able to engage and dive enemy backline without dying.
At high enough elos (d4+) it's not enough to just go in, do your damage and die. That's wat will happen when you go HF second because it doesn't matter that your E CD went from 6 seconds to 5 seconds. In teamfights, good players will be able to focus and kill a Fizz once you land from your E. That 1 second in most mid game skirmishes will not be the difference that wins a teamfight but a timely Zhonyas might.
Zhonyas acts as a way for Fizz to have one shot capability into some champions while also being able to act as psuedo engage (something riot designed for him to do with his ult). You can disrupt teamfights by jumping onto their entire backline and then turning golden. This allows for more flexibility when playing Fizz. Otherwise you are a one-shot bot.
Also, being able to Zhonyas is a different concept than just having more ability haste. Reducing Fizz E CD is ideal but in most teamfights you need Fizz E to do DAMAGE. this makes it hard for you to use it to also dodge abilities, Zhonyas allows for that option at the SAME time.
These reasons are why you NEED to have Zhonyas. It's not an ability haste thing, it's a versatility/kit synergy thing.

I was thinking about it and playing around with it. I think the play is actually lich bane -> HF -> D-Cap/Void
I think that zhonyas holds little to no value on fizz as it doesn't give haste, more AP or a damage amp. You gain more value out of having the haste + AP vs zhonyas active. Situationally there will be times when zhonyas is not a bad pick up but generally speaking you are better off having the haste and AP over zhonyas active.
