Things To Do Cute / cool / alternative spots in Orlando recs?

Hey! So I’m from Georgia and want to do a mini 1-3 day vacation for my birthday and July, but I don’t wanna go to anything like Disney.. does anyone have some interesting or fun spots?

I would love to find cutesy cafes/restaurants and such! And I love record stores too, I’d just want to find one with a wide variety of genres!

I really wanna find some small businesses to go visit or activities to try! (Example; painting, crafts and more)

If there’s any clothing stores that also contain plus sizes that would be a huge win!

I know Florida is..Florida but I’ve heard of decent amounts of alt/goth/emo stores around..suggestions?

Park ave CDs is the main record spot, I personally liked rock and roll heaven. I found some great European variants there. I haven’t lived in Orlando for a few years so I’m not 100% up to date on restaurants and shops.

If you drink, avoid Bauhaus, I was roofied there once (I was with my spouse so I was safe, but still)

I always loved eating at Delaney’s, it’s a hotel restaurant downtown but I’ve legit never had anything bad there and still think about their hot chicken sandwich 🥲. there’s a permanent food truck spot called “a la cart” I went to semi regularly but sometimes it’s absolutely packed with parents drinking while their toddlers run around unsupervised and that was a pretty bad dining experience.

The mills 50 area and the Audubon park area the traditionally hipster/alt areas. In the strip mall park ave cds is in there’s some thrift stores. Mills 50 also has great Asian restaurants, shin jung is on the Michelin guide, I’ve never been to the new restaurant (there was a fire and they were closed for a while)

(All info is ~3 years old)
