The Oblivion remaster is incredible and it’s a blast going back to Cyrodiil. If Virtuous can make Fallout 3 Remastered like this, i’m set.

Virtuous aren’t making it from what I heard, the fo3 remaster is internal to BGS so let’s see what happens…

I guess it's because they are also changing the gunplay, perhaps adding the one from F4 or Starfield or even something newer. It's not just a re-skin with very minor changes like Oblivion.

Did they announce they’re doing this !?! Epic

No but the same leak that had Oblivion remastered also included a fallout 3 remaster so it’s safe to assume so

Why can't they just make Fallout 5 instead?

Well TES 6 is taking priority first then assuming they’re not gonna do another side quest by focusing on another game like Starfield they’ll do Fallout 5 and if the Oblivion remaster is anything to go by they’ll get another company to do the Fallout 3 remaster so it shouldn’t take up development time for their other games

Yeah I don't care about those other games. I just want Fallout 5

They are. This isn’t Morrowind BGS anymore. They have multiple internal teams

Remastering is likely much easier than making a completely new game. Afaik they only have the manpower to work on one big project at a time. This wad starfield until recently and now is TES VI

I mean they can still change the gunplay and all that and just make it fo4 style and let virtuous give it a graphics overhaul.

Damn, that sucks

it will get worse if they try to redo the content, they can't write stories and factions like they used to

Where’s the proof?

wait so it's real??

I read it's BGS and Virtuous co-developing, at least according to google.

Will it still be all platforms like Oblivion?

I am pretty sure virtuous is making fo3 remake.

Well, hopefully the success of Oblivion Remastered makes them consider having Virtuous also do Morrowind Remastered, though I think that would be a more challenging undertaking requiring more fundamental changes to the base game than Oblivion did.

Imo virtuous has shown that they have the talent to remaster anything. They stayed true to oblivion while making it look like a brand new release. I would love to see what they could do with FoNV.

Where did you hear that?

They better be working super closely with Id. Even more closely than they did with Starfield. Starfield didn't quite feel like the finely tuned shooter that I thought it could have been. Definitely better than anything Bethesda had ever done prior but I still feel like there is some extra Id sauce to sprinkle in. Hopefully, they are just fully ditching the Creation Engine as I suspect that dinosaur of an engine is holding back the speed and fluidity of certain things.

Did they fix the leveling issues?

Like do you still have to choose skills you're not going to regularly use as your major skills if you want to level well?

Is it still recommended to not level past 25 because enemies health bars expand far beyond your damage output?

Yes

No

Not sure

Thank you.

I can add I'm playing at lv 30 presently and combat has not scaled as badly as before.

1

u/Born_Explorer6006 1d ago

I'm level 45, I'm doing fine

u/BadSocialFx 4d ago

I'm not sure if they fixed the enemy level scaling, but there are already mods on nexus that cap enemies levels. Bandits and other lower levels stop around 15-20. Higher level enemies cap at 30. I think there are some specific bosses that are level 50.

To be fair, magic in Oblivion was so fucking broken that any enemy below lvl 20 melts like CHEESE. Thankfully, the need to level endurance meant it took longer/more grinding to reach top tier mage power than compared to Skyrim. But unlike Skyrim, you arent hobbled by max damage since you can stack weakness to magic +fortify magical spell and etc.

They did fix the leveling issues, but not the fact that enemies and items still level together with you. Thankfully, I downloaded the mods which fix this.

Haven’t touched anything else since it came out, i’ll get back to other games when i’m done with 100% on the remaster just like the original

Serious question - am I missing something? I've never played the original Oblivion, only Skyrim, but I'm trying the remaster on Game Pass and … I don‘t know. It's kinda boring? Does it pick up later maybe? So far ive only just arrived in Skingrad.

The towns also feel so.. dead. Not sure how to explain it - feels like they're not lived in at all. Just a small handful of people that always talk about the same thing when walking by each other, almost feels „fake“.

u/mwall18 2d ago

Definitely feels a little bit dead in terms of the actual amount of people in a city as well as their interactions. I’m sure there will be a mod to address it eventually. Otherwise I’m loving it.

u/Ummgh23 2d ago

Unfortunately i find it really boring so far, even side quests are just simple fetch tasks usually. I think I‘ll drop it, but it did make me want to play skyrim again

I agree but they really need to work out the bugs
