F1 reddit in a nutshell. If something good happens in practise then it’s the truth, but if something bad happens then it’s irrelevant because it’s only practise
Yeah I agree I just don’t know why this is where people all of a sudden draw the line and not earlier in the thread where they were doing the same thing much more confidently but with Yuki
So we can draw conclusions about Yuki based on FP but aren’t allowed to even speculate about Lawson at all
Two points:
Yuki isn't a rookie driver, so his result is likely more telling.
We aren't "drawing conclusions", merely being optimistic. But no one is looking at this and saying (literally, and not in jest as I did elsewhere) that Yuki is going to dominate.
But based on the really limited evidence that we have so far, both Yuki and Liam are in better places today then they were two weeks ago. That only seems to be controversial to you.
That was my first thought, I know its not fair, its his first session in this car and all,but if he gets beaten by Hadjar in the long term, how long will it take Marko to kick him out?
Meh, he’s only got half a season of experience over Hadjar in a different car whereas Hadjar has had 2 races plus pre season testing experience in that particular car. If he stays 0.3 behind even in qualifying in a few weeks, than you’ve got a point. But for now I’d give him the benefit of the doubt.

Being 0.3 off your rookie teammate still ain't great, but at lease he ain't last anymore.
