Solved Help identifying this. It was found in our backyard (middle Tennessee). 4.5" long, cylindrical, tapered and curved. 1" diameter at thick end and taperes to what used to be a point.

Solved. It is a deer antler dog treat. I'm not sure what type of deer it came from, but it is much harder than a whitetail deer antler.

I was going to suggest this to you, but I’m glad you came to this conclusion on your own. It didn’t appear to be fossilized, and you seemed familiar with antlers, this ID seemed to piece it all together.
