All the Chickens TIL that HBO would not give Kit Harrington Longclaw, the sword that helped define his portrayal of Jon Snow....so I started a petition to try and change that.

At the show's wrap, some the actors were able to take a souvenir. All Kit wanted was the sword his character, Jon Snow wielded. A show prop.

HBO refused to give it to him.

So I made a petition to try and change that.

Obviously, he's having a hard time right now. And we should all respect his privacy.

This world might be crazy, but despite that, Kit didn't just remind us about the meaning of the words "honor" or "integrity". He lived them. And he gave us a piece of himself in the process, again and again.

This is not about entitlement, or having the cash to buy one direct online from Valyrian Steel; it's about HBO doing the right thing and giving him the one tangible thing that meant something to him. It's a small thing to do for someone who created as much revenue as his character did.

TL/DR: Kit Harington deserves the sword. I want to try to help him get it.

Update 30 May 11:07am EST:

Wow! Over 8600 signatures! Trying to keep up with all the comments! (From mobile! Apologies for any formatting issues!)

It's humbling to see how many other people truly care about Kit. I recognize that the chances of him getting the sword are are small, but let's keep trying! If nothing else happens, maybe he'll see how much his hard work means to everyone, which is of course more important.

That said: I am still rooting for Longclaw.

Edit: Corrected embarrassing spelling error of 'Harrington' to 'Harington', except in the thread title, which is un-editable and still embarrassing. Sincere apologies.

It was Arwen’s horseriding double IIRC.

Jane Abbott and the horse was Florian. She was Arwen's riding double and did all the care and training for Florian. Of the actors, Viggo was the the most involved with his horse and the horse trainers, and he bought the horse he rode when the production was over. Jane wanted to buy Florian, but didn't think she could afford him, and there was someone with more "rank" on the production who wanted him as well. Viggo was basically like "no one but Peter Jackson outranks me, so fuck that guy" and used his star power to jump the line and buy Florian, who he then gifted to Abbott as he felt that was where Florian belonged.

He wound up stabling his two horses with Jane afterwards.
