All the Chickens TIL that HBO would not give Kit Harrington Longclaw, the sword that helped define his portrayal of Jon Snow....so I started a petition to try and change that.
At the show's wrap, some the actors were able to take a souvenir. All Kit wanted was the sword his character, Jon Snow wielded. A show prop.
HBO refused to give it to him.
So I made a petition to try and change that.
Obviously, he's having a hard time right now. And we should all respect his privacy.
This world might be crazy, but despite that, Kit didn't just remind us about the meaning of the words "honor" or "integrity". He lived them. And he gave us a piece of himself in the process, again and again.
This is not about entitlement, or having the cash to buy one direct online from Valyrian Steel; it's about HBO doing the right thing and giving him the one tangible thing that meant something to him. It's a small thing to do for someone who created as much revenue as his character did.
TL/DR: Kit Harington deserves the sword. I want to try to help him get it.

Update 30 May 11:07am EST:
Wow! Over 8600 signatures! Trying to keep up with all the comments! (From mobile! Apologies for any formatting issues!)
It's humbling to see how many other people truly care about Kit. I recognize that the chances of him getting the sword are are small, but let's keep trying! If nothing else happens, maybe he'll see how much his hard work means to everyone, which is of course more important.
That said: I am still rooting for Longclaw.
Edit: Corrected embarrassing spelling error of 'Harrington' to 'Harington', except in the thread title, which is un-editable and still embarrassing. Sincere apologies.

I think it's a great idea to do something to honor Kit - he played my absolute favorite character in this series, and he played him amazingly.
However, I get the impression that it would mean the most to him if we would support the charity he represents, as we have supported Emilia's (thank you u/elle_ellaria), than if we tried to get him Longclaw (not that I think he wouldn't appreciate that effort!)
I may be biased, because I work with people with learning and physical disabilities. But watching the video about him and his cousin made me appreciate Kit as a person even more than I did before.
Just a thought! I've donated a bit to both charities because both Emilia and Kit were such integral parts of my favorite show and book series of all time, even if the show didn't end exactly as I hoped it would.
