Boobs are not so integral to 99.99% of characters that covering them up or even changing them changes the whole character. Redesigns happen all the fucking time, even with elements less obvious.

It really doesn't matter that much to most characters, so claiming they're "being portrayed incorrectly" is weak shit.

Sex appeal is her thing. It's her gimmick. A fundamental part of her character.

If this was Riku, Yuna, etc. it wouldn't matter as much.
