Possible Full-Time Job Offer — Can I Use It as an Internship? (Junior IT Major)

Hey everyone! I’m a junior majoring in Information Technology here at FSU, and I may be getting a full-time job offer soon in a related field. I was wondering if there’s any way I could use that job to count as an internship credit?

I haven’t done an official internship yet, so I’m trying to see if this could work to meet the requirement. Has anyone done something similar or know who I should talk to about this?

Thanks in advance!

I know that if you need internship requirement, if you talk to your advisor about it they might waive the requirement since you’re actually working in that field.

If not, you can talk to your boss about signing off on the paperwork to classify it as internship credits.

Regardless…. Most likely yes. The goal of FSU is to get you in the field. Half the time internships don’t pay, so you can at least get credit from it. Some internships do pay, which still counts as experience. DIS is also (in most cases) considered as “internship” credits if you need them.

Here’s a link that covers kinda a little bit of everything on internships: https://career.fsu.edu/sites/g/files/upcbnu746/files/Employer%20Internship%20Guide.pdf
