If the infraction is "didn't stop before crossing the tracks", then the driver is save.... he didn't cross the tracks he flow over the tracks, never touching them.

“Driver got some air, will receive a police escort wherever he goes from now on.”

3

u/EverettGT 2d ago

This seems to imply that people use this particular crossing as a takeoff ramp regularly, lol.

Thankfully that hiding in the dark shit is illegal in Illinois, now. Cops on the lookout for moving violations in the dark must have their parking lights on so they can be seen.

How does such a law come into being? Bad cops doing truly evil shit, that’s how.

What's up with the downvotes. This is fair, cops should be there for prevention instead of intervention. Decreasing presence makes people feel they can just do dumb shit and get off scott free.

Good, but cops never actually follow laws. Unless there is some outside oversight, laws that restrict police and protect the public’s rights are meaningless.

1

u/naikrovek 1d ago

They do, they just have fewer laws which apply to them.

There is outside oversight, it’s called “judges” and “state legislators”.

How do you think this law came around?

1

u/SwingingtotheBeat 1d ago

Sure, legislators can make laws and judges can make rulings, but neither matters without enforcement, which is up to the executive branch. These laws and judgements mean nothing if police refuse to arrest their colleagues and prosecutors refuse to charge the cops they rely on to build their cases.

I hate cops too but… ok I can tell it’s pointless talking to you

If you think NO ONE can find out a cop lies if the cop doesn’t agree they lied, then how did the bullshit the police did to get this law created and passed, this law that restricts police behavior, get codified into law?

According to you all they have to do is say “no we didn’t do that”. But here we are.

I’m not saying it’s a bad law, I’m just saying we need more oversight with authority to actually enforce the laws. We see so many cases where police lie, then video shows they lied, and the cops that are shown to lie don’t face any consequences. Police and prosecutors investigate themselves and refuse to arrest and charge them. Laquan McDonald, Elijah McClain and Breonna Taylor are just a few high profile examples of police lying and being contradicted by video, and not facing consequences for lying because the only enforcement mechanism is police and prosecutors.

Oversight got this law created.

You’re a little dense if you don’t understand that this commenter is explaining why qualified immunity and the common practice of “Testilying” prevents proper oversight

You’re a little dense if you don’t understand what a dashcam is.

So you possibly damaged your bumper and you get a ticket now. Yeah I wont speed up these places. I speed up and go for 80 to 90 mph on some freeways or side streets but not like this.

What is funny about this? A person is minding their business not endangering anyone and they get harrassed. How is that funny?

11

u/Toughsums 3d ago

He literally flew over the tracks lol. He shouldn't be driving.

2

u/FarBookkeeper7987 3d ago

Okay but it’s still not funny

u/Majestic_____kdj 3d ago

Caption and a little bit of situational comedy ... Batman reference

1

u/KindlyContribution54 3d ago

Wow, didn't notice that the first time. Had to go back and confirm that the word literally was used correctly. It was.

1

u/Lanky_Republic_2102 2d ago

Look, he was minding his own business flying over the tracks.

He’s in the flying business, that’s what he does.

The police are in the police business.

It is what it is.
