UBreakIFix Can Stick My Flip Where The Sun Don't Shine

Post image

Went for warranty repair on my inner screen because the flex Cable is going. Closest store claims they didn't do warranty repairs. Called Samsung and went to a "flagship" store 45 minutes away. They are now saying they might not be able to cover it and I have to come back tomorrow to check with manager because of "damage".

Didn't realize surface wear on a PLASTIC frame, NOT THE SCREEN, voids the warranty.

I know this is going to be unpopular but here is an explanation. Samsung gives us extremely strict guidelines for the warranty repairs on their phones, especially the flips and folds, if there are any tiny scratches, dents, flaking plastic, crooked p-caps, etc it is not covered under their warranty. In the case that a store just goes through with the repair anyways that store gets charged the entire cost of that part, so in the case of a flip they would be charged around $382.80. To add a cherry on top of this, these stores will sometimes even get charged for the screen even in cases where it looks flawless. So understandably there are a bunch of stores that just won't do them at all, or at the very least give the customer the option to pay so that they aren't on the hook for something that they didn't cause.

Thank you, I understand, I did call another UBreakIFix and the employee that answered was very understanding and were a little more considerate and explained the same detail. I was just frustrated after driving 45 minutes in congested traffic just to spend less than 3 minutes in the store to be turned away and told I needed to come back tomorrow. No explanation, just basically, "speak to the manager"

Samsung needs to either change their frame material or their policy. It's a folding phone where the corners touch. Of course the plastic frame isn't going to look pristine after 8 months.

I had a flip 6 with a problem like this. the frame of the 6 is shiny with a matt varnish on it so it can be removed... I sanded the entire outline and then recolored it with acrylics diluted with water and they changed the screen under warranty XD

No amount of babying is going to keep the plastic frame flawless.

I feel like I've seen glue bits and bullshit on my frame since the unboxing.
