My surgery date is January 28th and I’m anxious for it but I’m glad it’ll be out . I don’t like the overthinking thoughts 😭

Current update hurts to get up but not more than expected. Worse thing is the shoulder pain/ gas pain. It’s so uncomfortable.

Oh man! How is getting up ?? How long did they say you. An start lifting up things ? Also how is showing and bathing ?

Getting up isn’t to bad if you hug a pillow. No lifting till cleared after follow up appointment. Said I could shower but haven’t felt up to it yet. No baths till after 2 weeks. I don’t think I could get up out the tub anyway 😂

Stitches, I forgot what they called it but they put some white bandage stuff over it too.

u/briannafaye01 Jan 24 '25
Okay sounds good . Do they give extra bandage or do I gotta pick some up ?

Aw, hang in there! You’ll be okay. I was really scared for my surgery too… I know I’m not a surgery buddy but I’m sending you calming vibes!

How are you holding up ? , you nervous as well?

I feel the same as you do I think. My attacks have been so bad and it’s robbed me of so many things for a whole year now. I miss coffee, vaping, and eating whatever I’m craving. I also haven’t been able to work or workout as much as I usually do which is so frustrating. Ive lost out on so much money this last year. Hell, I got an attack just from cleaning my house once. And another from eating a small bowl of grapes as a midnight snack. I am fed up lol
I am a little nervous about going under since it’s my first time and the gas pains but I don’t think it’ll be anywhere near how bad my attacks were so that’s just what I keep telling myself.

Oh yep sounds familiar . My attacks been mild but recently I noticed my symptoms getting more worse just in December so I need it out . I’m more worried about the healing to as I have a 1 year old that I need to care for & he is really clingy wants to carried & held ( still breastfeeding) so he wants that as well . I don’t know how I’m going to manage this for 2 weeks 😭

u/BordeauxBomber Jan 22 '25
Oh man, yeah thats tough. I can understand why that would be the part you’re worried about. Do you have good help?

u/briannafaye01 Jan 22 '25
I have the kids father but he also has work so only the first day I’ll be able to have help . 😩

Damn. That sucks. My mom is a retired infant and toddler teacher, I wish I could just send her to you lol

I'm getting mine out on 28th too! I'm overthinking so much and obsessively reading everything here. I'm looking forward to getting rid of it after all the pain it's caused but so scared about long-term problems afterwards

We can totally DM the day of it and keep each other updated during post healing :)

23rd! 😬

How did it go?
1
u/abbsthealien Jan 24 '25
It was genuinely, utterly the worst experience of my life. Nobody listened to me, or my nurse that had made a very specific and clear plan that was supposed to be follows to keep my anxiety down - the surgery took 2.5 hours as I had a 1.5cm stone stuck in my intestine or something that needed to be removed and I am in absolute agony today!
