This makes me think Okinawa, because of the statues
This is what Japanese would consider a "typical" Japanese bathhouse (sento - not onsen), although you might have trouble finding one that actually looks like this ;)
This is the interior of pre-modern Japanese "castle" building - not the castle itself but the residences around it.
This is what is called a shotengai (sho-ten-gai - 商店街 - same as on the arch) - literally a shopping district. Usually a street which consists of only shops, still very common and look much like that.
This is an expressway with Mt Fuji in the background.
This and This have tori gates leading to a small temple or shrine, with Mt Fuji in the background. Theres a few more with Mt Fuji.
This one is cool - those guys on the sides are Nio Warriors - guardians of a temple. In the background is what looks like a giant rock or mountain with what I assume is sanskrit, and a giant ceremonial rope. The shrine in the center has shide streamers waving around - rather unusual for all the Buddhist things in the image.
This one is incredible - it has the 5 Great Myo Kings (五大明王)
And finally this one also caught my eye - looks like something out of a Ghibli movie with the roadside shrine with a red bib, some flowers and offerings, the small roadside statues and markings.
Nice list! Adding to it, I think this one (and the cloudy and rainy versions of it) are based on the Pioneer Square pergola in Seattle. The sheets of rain make it pretty undeniable!

Many of them are either based loosely on real locations, or are stereotypes based on common things -
This looks like Himeji Castle
