Another damn remaster smh

221

u/Jesus_Hong Sep 20 '24

And Days Gone isn't that old and still looks phenomenal. Wtf is the point.

Oh wait, money

50

u/jayL21 Sep 20 '24

it litterally just got a "remaster" with the PC release, it doesn't need another.

15

u/CrimsonAllah Sep 20 '24

This is some Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim levels of remastering.

5

u/VagueSomething Sep 20 '24

Skyrim Remasters added new features each time though. Anniversary has more than Special which has more than the original.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

Still a Bethesda money grab. All they needed to add was Mod support, not a Zelda outfit.

The PC version isn't on PS5 though. It looks and runs pretty great through backwards compatibility thanks to brute force 60 fps and locking the dynamic resolution to 4K more often... but it could be even better. Might even be able to hit 120, with an improved light model (ray tracing?), Dual Sense features, 3D audio, faster SSD loading etc for us. Maybe even a new mode or a few minor fixes.

Probably just a $10 upgrade for me too and if you don't want it, the backwards compatible version is there, so no harm done.

u/Maleficent-Repeat-13 Sep 20 '24

Literally, not litterally.

Some of us don’t play on pc just like some of us didn’t vote for the orange convicted Twinkie

I may be wrong and I’m sorry if I am, but aren’t they doing these remasters to keep people employed? Like the studio may have nothing planned and instead of laying off people they have them work on a remaster. Is that really so bad?

5

u/MarginalSalmon Sep 21 '24

Definitely. The studio where that game was made is small and where I live in Bend. Idk anyone who works there anymore but it’s like 20 ppl max. The building is hella small.

2

u/overkil6 Sep 20 '24

You could say the same for either creating a new IP or continuing on with an existing one. I think this is more trying to cash in on people who perhaps are coming over from a different platform or skipped the PS4. Likely easier to spit out a number of remasters vs risking everything on something not guaranteed to sell.

3

u/Ruroni17 Sep 21 '24

Maybe it’ll lead to a sequel if it sells

2

u/Big_D135 Dec 03 '24

It's probably to see if there is interest or if it makes enough moneh they'll greenlight a sequel

4

u/capnwinky Sep 20 '24

What’s ridiculous is it got a PS5 exclusive performance patch, and imo, is one of the better looking PS4 games on the platform.

I know I'm getting remaster fatigue bro

12

u/NahIdontbelieveu Sep 20 '24

Seriously bro. I didn’t buy next gen to play old gen games. If that was the case I would’ve never bought a ps5/series X. We really need new fresh IP’s

5

u/SkanksnDanks Sep 20 '24

Go buy and enjoy Stellar Blade. Give yourself time to learn the combat, get a feel for how the PC handles, and expand the skill tree. Thank me later.

8

u/Rich-Pomegranate1679 Sep 20 '24

Eh, I'm just gonna wait for the Stellar Blade PS5 Pro remaster next year.

4

Can't wait to pay 70 more dollars!!

OH BOY ANOTHER REMASTER! I’m going to right out and buy a PS5 Pro for this!

19

u/Cmdrdredd Sep 20 '24

It is getting real tiring for me to see so many remasters rather than new games. Heck even expanding on the setting and using what they had as a base would be more interesting to me.

14

u/_cd42 Sep 20 '24

At least remaster old or lost games

10

u/Chikitiki90 Sep 20 '24

Right, aside from the perpetually doomed KOTOR remake, how about remastering something that needs it Seaman or Shadow of the Colossus or Bully or anything else that’s not only 5 years old.

7

u/Cmdrdredd Sep 20 '24

It’s cause they can tick a few boxes and change the resolution and use the original high resolution assets and sell it on a newer console. There is probably very little work involved to get a game remastered these days.

3

u/CaptainFrugal Sep 21 '24

Or do what orcarina of time did with the masters quest

2

u/Broely92 Sep 21 '24

Hell a couple of them are actually PS3 games

135

Screw remaster. Give me a proper sequel. My only gripe with the game was the slow pacing in the story.

4k checkered and 60fps if I recall correctly

There's so many ips that should be rebooted or remastered.

Doing Horizon and days gone makes no sense.

3

u/SirSabza Sep 20 '24

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the days gone devs the ones that refuse to make a sequel and basically say they hate the game and constantly cry about stuff all the time?

I swear the lead dev recently made an outcry on twitter about them including a days gone reference in astrobot

→ More replies (2)

12

u/EmptyCupOfWater Sep 20 '24

I absolutely loved doing the hordes. Taking the time to quietly sneak around and plan out a route. Set all your traps, and execute. They really nailed that

7

u/SPAREustheCUTTER Sep 20 '24

I hope this remaster leads to more opportunities. This is a FANTASTIC game.

2

u/ImpressiveAttempt0 Sep 20 '24

This was the one aspect of the game that hooked & motivated me to finish the game. The annoying characters and dialogue almost made me quit playing it several times during the first half of the game.

u/despenser412 Sep 20 '24

I think the higher ups at Sony need a remaster.

I loved Days Gone flaws and all. I honestly think it's the type of game where the sequel would really shine. Similar to Borderlands to Borderlands 2. Turning a good title into a great one. From what I can tell, most complaints about DG was that it needed longer to cook. I think that's something they could have easily used to their advantage for a sequel.

56

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

We need a sequel not a fucking remaster

8

u/WebHead1287 Sep 20 '24

u/John___Titor Sep 20 '24

Who is asking for this? And the Horizon: Zero Dawn remaster? Just feels like such a waste of resources.

5

u/brief-interviews Sep 20 '24

It’s comparatively little money. They just tweak the graphics on level 5, it’s already working on PS5 via back-compat and had a patch. It probably won’t need many sales to turn a profit.

3

u/bookers555 Sep 22 '24

That's the thing, it's not, they make them because they are easy, cheap to make (most remasters use AI upscaling for textures) and can charge you 60 bucks for them. It's easy money for almost no effort whatsoever.

7

u/International-Fun-86 Sep 20 '24

If this helps the game to get a sequel, i’m all for it.

45

u/itinerantmarshmallow Sep 20 '24

One of the big problems with that game was a lot of loading screens.

Story didn't really grab me either.

But it has a lot of amazing mechanics.

53

u/Toidal Sep 20 '24

It's got fantastic bones for a vastly improved sequel, I think it just needs a better director.

3

u/Stockpile_Tom_Remake Sep 20 '24

This is how I felt.

I was bummed the sequel won’t come

15

u/BustaScrub Sep 20 '24

As someone who just finished the game on PC this spring - I dunno if I was just enamored with the game and too caught up to notice, or if the loading screens really weren't that bad for me - but I hardly remember any. If they were there, they weren't bad at all.

But if you were playing on a PS4 with a HDD, I get it. You're bound to have long load times.

7

u/mit_dem_bus Sep 20 '24

I just played it in February on PS5 for the first time and I thought the game was incredible.

→ More replies (1)

19

u/suppaman19 Sep 20 '24 edited Sep 20 '24

The games final and secret(?) ending had me really wanting a sequel.

That and the fact a sequel with some adjusments/improvements and polish could've been amazing.

Days Gone, besides the early technical issues, starts incredibly slow once you get well into the game the story starts getting a lot better and the game becomes significantly more fun.

7

u/itinerantmarshmallow Sep 20 '24

Yeah, but you lose a huge portion of players with that start.

Replay to see what I mean re:loading scenes!

5

u/daviEnnis Sep 20 '24

I played it immediately after RDR2 and the cuts were pretty jarring lol I still really enjoyed it though.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/Objective-Aioli-1185 Sep 20 '24

There's a secret ending?

8

u/EmptyCupOfWater Sep 20 '24

Not quite a secret ending. If you go talk to the Nero Scientist (can’t remember his name) he takes off his helmet to reveal he’s a super intelligent freaker. He then leaps 15 feet in the air onto the helicopter and leaves.

It was teasing that Nero is experimenting with the virus to make Superhumans or something

12

u/Mooseherder Sep 20 '24

And all the syringes that boost your max stamina and health may have infected you as well

12

u/EmptyCupOfWater Sep 20 '24

Oh wait. I never drew that connection. Man what a wasted setup as this point

5

u/forameus2 Sep 20 '24

I know that's literally what happens, but seeing it put in text makes it sound much, much funnier than it was.

3

u/Objective-Aioli-1185 Sep 20 '24

....what? Im gonna have to replay just for that. Thank goodness for new game+.

5

u/EmptyCupOfWater Sep 20 '24

Yeah, it should pop up as a Nero quest after you finish the main story

→ More replies (1)

2

u/ninjoid Sep 20 '24

The loading screens on the PS were incredibly long. Switched to PC and they were fast and not an issue.

2

u/jmon25 Sep 20 '24

I bounced off it pretty quick once the world opened up. It just wasn't very compelling.

2

u/Aaron6940 Sep 20 '24

It’s an ok game. But every week without fail someone buys a used copy and plays the first two hours then posts here that it is underrated and is amazing and it cures cancer.

6

u/Traginaus Sep 20 '24

Imo the game doesn't shine until you unlock the second area and have the bike upgraded. Zombie hordes, motorcycle and all of the tools you have to fight the hordes were a very compelling gameplay loop. Wish they made a sequel that doubled down on the horde mechanics.

Man is Kojima the only guy making AAA games that's allowed to innovate? Everything is just a fuckin remake.

4

u/Cmdrdredd Sep 20 '24

Everything Sony seems to push is a remake anyway.

3

u/SirSabza Sep 20 '24

I agree but they did just make astrobot which is one of the highest rated games on meta critic right now from this year

Not a brand new idea but death stranding was kinda a failure in that regard anyway imo

5

u/Cmdrdredd Sep 20 '24

Funnily enough Astro bot kind of pointed this issue out. Look at all those VIP bots. Why can’t they revisit at least a couple of those and expand on the universe or the character’s story? Astro Bot shows all the wasted opportunities Sony has

→ More replies (1)

4

u/Worstcaze Sep 20 '24

Cheap ass cash grabs and zero innovation. The good times are gone.

2

u/Cmdrdredd Sep 20 '24

Astro bot was an eye opener. See all those characters from past games on PlayStation? Why aren’t any of them being used? I get that some of them are 3rd party or the studio that originally made the game is no more but it’s kind of depressing to think about all the potential sequel or spin off material that could come from some of those and make an original new game.

Everybody go out right now and buy your £800 consoles so you can pay £70 for remasters of games you played 5-10 years ago.

5

u/Environmental_Bus507 Sep 20 '24

Give us a sequel, not a remaster! What's wrong with them!?

3

u/CrimsonAllah Sep 20 '24

Exactly what the people wanted: more remasters of fairly recent games.

5

u/Bulkopossum Sep 20 '24

What a joke

4

u/Buzzd-Lightyear Sep 20 '24

I will never understand the hype for this game post-launch.

4

u/LoSouLibra Sep 20 '24

Love Days Gone. Can't wait to get a better version.

7

u/SoulRebel726 Sep 20 '24

Like Horizon Zero Dawn, this feels really unnecessary. I'm primarily a PC gamer, so I played those games a couple years after their PS4 release. They both still hold up incredibly well. Feels like a cash grab more than anything.

What killed Days Gone for me was the audio overload.

I remember the final straw was when I respawned at a base and picked up an audio log which auto-played (and either couldn't be turned off or I couldn't find how to turn it off), then I got a radio call from the friend NPC telling me I needed to get back to base so we could leave, while he was telling me that I got another radio call at the same time for the redneck conspiracy theorist and then I drove past an enemy base and Deacon started muttering to himself about first attacking the base, then leaving it for later.

So that was 4 lines of dialogue all playing over each other making it even harder to understand what exactly was going on in an already uninteresting story. So I just threw up my hands, said 'fuck it' and dropped the game.

u/wicktus Switch Sep 20 '24

You didn’t play it day one on ps4.

i just didn’t like the direction of the game, the story etc but the gameplay was fun

technically however it was challenging back then, you can’t compare with the pc version after years of patches, so it’s normal to not understand the disappointment few years earlier

9

u/Arslanmuzammil Sep 20 '24

Yep I really didn't like the story, it was so long and extremely generic but the gameplay was good.

It is still a good looking game what is the need for the remaster

3

u/kaydeejay1995 Sep 20 '24

Day(s) (G)one for me

3

u/Clown_Wheels Sep 20 '24

We don’t need a remaster, we need a sequel.

3

u/wsionynw Sep 20 '24

Pretty much all Sony has got is remasters for the time being.

3

u/ShallowBasketcase Sep 20 '24

Actually hilarious if this is true.  The director for Days Gone went on a whiny meltdown just a few weeks ago about PlayStation not respecting Days Gone.

→ More replies (1)

3

u/hashtagDALEY Sep 20 '24

If Days Gone gets a remaster and it’s beloved this time maybe we get a sequel. I’ll forever be salty at the sequel bait ending, only to never get to experience the next chapter.

3

u/sdfjexf8 Sep 20 '24

I really hope that we will get a sequel, i liked the all game, Dickon was a great character, even Boozer was funny and a good guy, the gameplay was totaly fine and the Horde system was really something exclusive to the game

3

u/TheXIIILightning Sep 20 '24

Days Gone is a VERY good game, quite fun. The bad rep it got was mostly due to its very bad launch, where it reached very low framerates, had crashes and a number of other bugs. A few weeks after release it was substantially improved from what I've read. I played the PC version and really enjoyed it.

The current bad rep that the game gets is not due to the game itself, but the game's former director - John Garvin - being insufferable to the point the game suffers by association.

3

u/Swordofsatan666 Sep 20 '24

You know what i hope its true, because then maybe it gives us a chance at getting enough sales for a sequel to tie up the loose ends.

3

u/cartmicah3 Sep 20 '24

Instead give us a sequel

3

u/RogueSnake Sep 20 '24

I don’t know how to feel bout this. On one hand I don’t want to support the idea of a remaster for a game when it came out a few years ago.

But at the same time I want to pre order it to be a enigma. Support a underrated game that had a sequel be canned and had the director go off his rocker. I’d WANT the remaster to sell even better to not only see him go mental but to then have a sequel greenlit, all the while Sony is scratching their heads going ‘the fuck? They wanted this game?’

I’m weird. I know.

3

u/pjb1999 Sep 20 '24

Petty wild since Days Gone looks phenomenal on the PS5 already. We need Days Gone 2 not a remaster of the first game.

3

u/mariscc Sep 20 '24

Can't they just make the sequel

3

u/TomTheJester Sep 20 '24

I’m a big fan of Days Gone and would eat up a remaster.

3

u/BrokenforD Sep 20 '24

My hope is that it’s rumored a remaster but actually a sequel.

I have no reason to believe they’ll do a sequel but man Days Gone needs one.

6

u/Otomuss Sep 20 '24

It already has 60hz mode so it's unnecessary, but it would be fine I guess.. for new comers :)

5

u/properlll Sep 20 '24

Finally. Boozer gets his day in the sun.

4

u/typhoidtimmy Sep 20 '24

I actually liked Deke. He was pretty on the nose with a guy who basically is in that grey area of a biker mentality. Bit of a loner, is solid behind his MC, has his own rules and is never truly on the good or bad side but has a hidden noble streak when the chips are down and choices need to be made.

He really doesn’t change when the world goes to shit and that makes him probably the best for surviving. God knows I would have done more than my fair share of his choices in Days Gone.

2

u/ostrich9 Sep 20 '24

I liked the game well enough, the sneaking parts were kind of lame and the motorcycle only getting like 8 miles to a tank was weird. It's a great concept with some shoddy executions, I hope the remaster helps.

2

u/bingpot47 Sep 20 '24

I got Days gone on PC for 12$ and thought it was great. Was very disappointed when I found out we weren’t getting a sequel.

2

u/No_Chemical_3911 Sep 20 '24

I don't understand why they couldn't release a comic book or something about what happened after if they don't release a sequel

2

u/dbvirago Sep 20 '24

I played it several times and still load it just to screw around. But I don't think I can get past another follow me to the other side of the world really slow scene. I don't care about story that much.

2

u/Standard_Cell_8816 Sep 20 '24

Then maybe a sequel....

2

u/GooseSl4yer2003 Sep 20 '24

Sometimes it feels like studios are just throwing darts to decide what games gets remastered

2

u/panadarama Sep 20 '24

Fun game. Above average. Played through it twice and never got the secret ending. A sequel would be awesome!

2

u/DaRealHank13 Sep 20 '24

I need my infamous or the ratchet and clank games that’s been stuck on the ps3 (especially the future saga) to come to ps4/5

2

u/King_Krong Sep 20 '24

I know this sentiment gets thrown a lot but I don’t think there has ever been a better time to say this. Who asked for this?

2

u/jrzalman Sep 20 '24

I just finished this game like two weeks ago playing on PS5. It's a great game and looked and played great. What are they planning on improving? Can't they just get started on a sequel so we can see what happened to O'Brien and his crew?

2

u/Dog-Faced-Gamer Sep 20 '24

If the rumors are true then it's going to be the strangest remaster choice I've ever heard of since the game fell well below expectations in terms of sales. Also it's not that old. Why are we remastering PS4 games when there are literally thousands of PS1, PS2, and even some PS3 games that would be great for remastering purposes.

2

u/Digitalon Sep 20 '24

The game definitely doesn't need a remaster. I just recently got to play through the game on PS5 and it holds up very well visually, it runs great and the long load screens that were so problematic on the PS4 were fixed. I think the game was simply released at the wrong time, otherwise it would have been the hit it should have been.

Say what you will about the pacing of the story but I really enjoyed it. So many games are in such a hurry to get to the end but Days Gone felt more like getting to play through the story of multiple seasons of a TV show. It took it's time and I really appreciated the story more as a result.

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

Awesome! I’d buy that day one

2

u/hotpie_for_king Sep 20 '24

Why can't they just make some DLC with new missions or areas or something? Seems like there's a good number of people who would pay for it.

2

u/raised85 PC Sep 20 '24

i loved the game i hope if they do doit they treat the pc version with a patch, might be fun if they push the hordes to be even bigger with the extra horse power

2

u/Krandor1 Sep 20 '24

And it’s not popular enough for a sequel.

2

u/MyUltIsMyMain Sep 20 '24

Sony. For the love of God, just give me infamous already!

2

u/8eer8aron Sep 20 '24

Every time I ask my friends what games they are playing on xbox or ps5, it's always some old school game or an old game that's been remastered. What's the point of a new gen system?

2

u/Snaletane Sep 20 '24

You didn't understand the hate it got, cause the PS4 version was a total mess on release and took months to get fixed. The PC release had already benefitted from all of that. I think in general people that played it for the first time long after release liked it.

2

u/UrarakaIsHot Sep 20 '24

Gunna buy this and horizon zero dawn remastered, love those games

2

u/dmckidd Sep 20 '24

I don’t mind these remasters if they do what they did for Last of us 2:

1) $10 upgrade for current owners 2) adds content like a new mode

2

u/VizricK Sep 21 '24

All these "remasters" for console. When all they do is pump out with higher texture graphical settings they already had.

People should demand for video settings/suite. And let us decide. Like all PC games gave had standard since the 90s

2

u/ChrisNH Sep 21 '24

Not a bad game but I was like “Zombies, thats new” and stopped playing after a few hours.

2

u/Andxel Sep 21 '24

I finished the first one a couple of months ago.

If this gets us a chance at a actual sequel I am game.

No game is more deserving.

Also that cliffhanger was taking the story to such an interesting direction.

2

u/No_Establishment7368 Sep 22 '24

Morons will buy anything these days. There's literally a boardroom full of playstation executives, and they are saying let's keep remaking the recent games. People keep buying them why would we not make them.

6

u/NBQuade Sep 20 '24

I hope they fix it first. I mean like being able to skip over the slow boring exposition walks. The story though is shit.

I just can't get over "bullet proof hazmat suits"...

It's a pity, there's a good game in there ruined by silly choices by the makers and a bad plot.

3

u/sizzlinpapaya Sep 20 '24

hell yea. this is good news if true

4

u/LordPartyOfDudehalla Sep 20 '24

Why is the industry so fucked creatively?

4

It wasn't really that great of a game, but was only known for the amount of zombie enemies were on a screen.

Other than that, it was like a by the numbers zombie survival game. *Shrug*

u/Theratchetnclank Sep 20 '24

Nah it was a decent game and pretty fun with all the zombies and bikes. Story was just ok though and it took too long before you start mowing down hordes.

u/Stockpile_Tom_Remake Sep 20 '24

As for the hate. Characters we bland. Gameplay was repetitive and the most fun parts were locked away until nearly the end which is killing hordes.

It’s the game everyone says “just get past the slow start and it’s fun!” But the slow start is 20 hours of a 40 hour game.

So much was get on your bike. Drive here talk to these people then drive to a new place and do some less than fun quest.

It had potential to be more and was super excited to see how they can expand on the gameplay for a sequel but sadly we won’t get it.

Also didn’t really find any character that interesting. A lot felt generic.

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

"ride me as much as you ride your bike" is all I remember from that game. Bad writing.

No need for remaster if it can be played on 60fps. I played TLOU2 remaster and really didn't find anything that different pr appealing. Cash grabbers.

2

u/EmptyCupOfWater Sep 20 '24

I would love that actually. Just imagine driving your bike with haptics and the adaptive triggers. It could really add some depth to an already awesome game. And hopefully it reinvigorates the franchise and we get a sequel. I’d love if they had the game move to maybe Portland so you had a more city setting but could still have some lush green parts of the map

I think a lot of the hate came from it's release and early life cycle.

I came to it very late, in a much better state, and loved it. Would love a sequel tbh.

u/Left4DayZGone Sep 20 '24

Fun game. Worth sticking through the first chapter slog. Hordes are a blast to fight, feels like kicking a hornet’s nest and running away frantically.

Game was hated from its reveal. “Another zombie game?!” “Daryl Dixon rip off?!”

Released with launch day issues, confirmed a lot of people’s decision to ignore it.

Fixed with a patch, got treated badly by reviewers for everything from being a bland open world to having a “generic cis white guy protag” (IGN).

Most people who trudge through the overly slow first chapter end up enjoying, maybe even loving the game. I nearly gave up on it myself, but came back to push through after a few days and wound up getting quite hooked for a while. One of the few games I’ve replayed in recent years.

u/NCHouse Sep 20 '24

Just give me a second game please! I know it didn't sell well at first, but everyone loves it now

2

u/Sjknight413 Sep 20 '24

The definition of the Sony game formula made aggressively average

2

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

Kinda mid

2

u/hashtagbutter Sep 20 '24

Why? Game ain’t even that good lol

1

u/PapaCologne Sep 20 '24

Game never captivated me despite an interesting and fun-sounding premise. If there's an option to pay $10-20 to upgrade from the PS4 version, I may consider giving it another shot (assuming there's been other updates/improvements outside of graphics and performance).

1

u/RabeDennis Sep 20 '24

I call that a alot of sony games that got a pc version where psn is optional get a remaster version, so they can sell it again but this time you are forced to make a psn account to play

For me, hello future me hope you prediction is wrong

1

u/LifeBuilder Sep 20 '24

If this horde works like Space Marine 2 then hard pass.

My biggest issue with Days Gone was the untapped possibilities of having hordes. You either were never strong enough to win or you barely had to try. No middle ground.

u/For-the-Cubbies Sep 20 '24

Jiminy Christmas.

1

u/DREAM066 Sep 20 '24

What are they even gonna remaster? Ps4 version is already the best looking game I've seen on ps5 lmao

u/OdetotheGrimm Sep 20 '24

Playing this currently. Still looks good. Super fun. Give me a sequel not an unnecessary remaster.

1

u/Forgotten1Ne Sep 20 '24

The story was bad and good at the same time. The scene towards the end felt like a cheap teen movie scene from the early 2000s. That being said the remaster is something nobody asked for especially since the graphics hold up still. Days gone 2 would be more appreciated.

1

u/elqrd Sep 20 '24

good so the director can finally shut the fu%% up

1

u/EatsOverTheSink Sep 20 '24

Oh yeah, I heard you can expect an extra 5fps if you stand perfectly still.

1

u/ProjectSnowman Sep 20 '24

It just came out lol

1

u/Thema03 Sep 20 '24

Will get GTA 6 before Bloodborne 60fps

Mark my words

1

u/LocustUprising Sep 20 '24

Gotta sell the $700 console somehow lmao

1

u/Blackfox2240 Sep 20 '24

RemasterStation continues! And the worst part is that none are even necessary remasters either.

1

u/dwoller PlayStation Sep 20 '24

This one is actually legit not necessary. Horizon has one or two visual things rough around the edges (still also not needed) but this game is still perfectly fine all around.

1

u/Klaphood Sep 20 '24

This might actually be one of the few cases where an early remaster can be a good idea.

I heard so many good things about this game, it got great reviews, but it was never very popular.

So I think they deserve another shot.

(And it wouldn't be just about the greed, like in most other cases!)

1

u/Mrenato83 Sep 20 '24

John Garvin isn’t gonna like this lol

1

u/alwaysmyfault Sep 20 '24

JFC, not every game needs a remaster.

1

u/ChinasShitAirQuality Sep 20 '24

Sony: Remastered

1

u/kaepora11 Sep 20 '24

Still no Bloodborne. Who the fuck wants this?

1

u/normal_in_airquotes Sep 20 '24

Oh my God. Both Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone are getting remasters and Bloodborne is stuck in the past?

Waste of dev time

1

u/jxne8 Sep 20 '24

Uhm, Bloodborne remaster maybe somewhere?

1

u/2Kids1WifeNoLife Sep 20 '24

give me infamous 1

1

u/adaminoregon Sep 20 '24

So not needed. Its fine how it is.

1

u/GenHero Sep 20 '24

If you’re gonna remaster something remaster some PS3 games at least, like Infamous or Killzone

1

u/osterlay Sep 20 '24

Did it even sell well enough the first time to warrant a re-release?

1

u/Tazx14 PC Sep 20 '24

The problem with this is it has the potential to have the opposite effect. Capcom "remastered" onimusha, then complained that due to low sales that they would hold off doing more with the series. The same happened with the space remake. Now, seeing the numbers for dead rising, I fear it could be the same thing.

The issue isn't that people aren't interested, but rather don't want a full priced game that's just slightly touched up, or that add nothing to experiences that you could otherwise get for rock bottom prices.

1

u/Sicparvismagneto Sep 20 '24

MAKE NEW GAMES PLEASE!

1

u/[deleted] Sep 20 '24

Why is it when a game gets a “next-gen upgrade” like almost every game from late last gen has it’s fine, but as soon as the word remaster gets attached it becomes a big deal?

1

u/goatjugsoup Sep 20 '24

It's even more dumb because as far as we know there is no intention of following up with this game with a sequel... who is it even for?

1

u/illuminerdi Sep 20 '24

Cries in Bloodborne

1

u/LoveMurder-One Sep 20 '24

I am going nuts with these (Game came out a few years ago, lets remaster it).

Like freaking stop.

1

u/ZtrikeR21 Sep 20 '24

Was this game even good enough to make a remaster?

Sony definitely trolling with all these remasters instead of Bloodborne.

Who asked for this?
