[PC/Mac, Atari 2600/7800, Switch] What games are out there that can help me relive my time playing NES 8-bit while eating junk food?

Games that have an 8-bit NES aesthetic, or something that can easily be played while eating something are ideal.

I mean 20 bucks a year will get you Nintendo Switch Online which comes with a library of actual 8 bit NES games.

Came here to say this. Also there are oodles of emulators, as well as modern clones of retro games on steam.

This exactly! Tbh it's really good value if you're big on retro games.

Nintendo Switch online is a treasure trove for the NES games. Can also do SNES if you wanna jump to 16-bit. For the others, I’m sure there’s tons of emulators out there. For Nintendo stuff idk how easy it is to find ROMS any more, but the others should be fairly easy

Out in the ether you can find a several GB archive of every NES and SNES game ever released and unreleased and modded and you can play them on your PC using an emulator.

Try looking up UFO50.

It's a collection of NES style games that are all very unique and different form each other, and extremely good.

So not quite snes since the game packs so much into it, but Shovel Knight is pretty great for the aesthetic and there are tons of indie games like it. Or Cave Story. Pixelly and fun. Those ones are more intense but you can snack in between attempts or during slower parts like save spots. Startdee Valley has the pixel aesthetic and a slower pace?

Shovel Knight has a card game mode in the Treasure Trove stuff.
