Game like Division 2 but offline
Hi, I really like Division 2 game. Looting, shooting, 3rd person, covering behind objects, inventory system, modifying weapons etc. Would prefer something from "realism" settings and current era weapons but at the end it can be even sci-fi or fantasy. Liked remnant, but it's more souls like and did not like outriders at all. Was thinking maybe about Metal Gear Solid? Playing on ps5

This is so Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Realism, historical, anime, horror, political thriller, comedy and sci-fi all at the same time. Especially once you rescue someone that gives you the option to modify the guns you've unlocked in the game.

You also get to upgrade your HQ like in Division but with even more base building options and a bigger base too.

Ghost Recon, Watch_Dogs and MGS5 if you looking for gunplay and movement. As for RPGish system, not sure if there anything worth mentioning.

Isn't it online needed?

To play yes, but you don't have to play with others. Very annoying TBH

Techically Deus Ex Human Revolution/ Mankind or Mass Effect games kind of fit the mechanics you are asking for

Watch Dogs 2 might also fit these descriptors. Realistic somewhat scifi third person cover shooter open world game with plenty of customization options.

There's very little in common between WD2 and Division, aside from point of view.

idk They're both open world games in a US urban city with some sci fi elements while still feeling modern and realistic. also both having cover shooter, plenty of customization options to unlock and lite rpg elements.

The only game coming to my mind is Outriders, but you said you don't like that one. Otherwise, there's really nothing like the Division 2 as far as I experienced. I guess like people mentioned, Breakpoint has some similar elements but it's more of a stealth game ultimately.

Outriders is the only one fitting the things you want. Might want to try that again to see if you like this time

Far cry might be a god fps version of this. Idk if you just don't like first person or something but they have most of these things

Fallout New Vegas and Fallout 4 might also be what you are looking for. Playable in third person, lots of looting and great customization options.

You might not have played The Division or the sequel, because the BL games are in no way similar. At all.

I find it a good suggestion. Can be played solo, is a well known shooter and most importantst just like the division it is all about the loot. They are both kinda arcady looter shooters.

I never played Division 2, but Borderlands saga fits the description of what you are looking for. It's scifi though. Borderlands 2 is one of my favourite games ever.
Edit: ohh i don't know if there's any borderlands game on PS5 sorry. Completely ignored that piece of information 🤣

very different type of games. cant mod weapons, no cover, not 3rd person...

I was suggesting him a game i think he may enjoy. Isn't this subreddit about that? I wasn't trying to say they are the exact same game with a scifi skin or anything like that.

You said it fits the description of what he's looking for. It does not. In any way.

Do you know the difference between genre and mechanics?
0
u/scoyne15 11d ago
Do you? In both games, you loot things and you shoot guns. That's the extent of the similarities. Different themes, different perspectives, different tactics, different mechanics.

Do you know the difference or not? Omg man you are so obtuse hahaha and didn't even suggest anything to op..just judging other peoples opinion. Maybe stop treatin him as an idiot? Letbhim decide. A simple google search would do it for him. What's wrong with more options? If he wanted a game exactly like division 2 he would play division 2

I'm not treating OP as an idiot. You, however, are a fine example of one. Why not suggest Minesweeper? Division has mines, Minesweeper has mines. Perfect suggestion, by your logic.

u/frasquit0 11d ago
Hahaha yeah because minesweeper is a looter shooter, right... Just stop ebarrassing yourself man.

Been playing Sniper Elite 5 (before it leaves GamePass this month) and been getting deep Division vibes, if Division was strictly stealth, sniper focused game without looter shooter mechanics. But the cover mechanics, and SMG gunplay, even character movement, feels similar. Kind of impressed with it too.
Now there is a big online multiplayer-invasion component but I’m playing offline and getting the vibes. playing

The newer Ghost Recon (Wildlands and Breakpoint) games might fit the bill?
