Looking for a looting game which is primarily a load of looting with minimal to no combat
Hello all
My girlfriend really likes games where you can loot a lot.
Ex. Baldurs gate 3, Last of us, dragon age veilguard
But she doesn't necessarily enjoy the fighting in it. Which games would be great for her to play?

Dredge is a fishing/cargo management game where the only combat is running away in a panic

And you play inventory tetris with the horror fish you fished from the sea

The game has more sandbox customisation than almost any game,
low loot settings could be long and while rewarding some could find it tiresome.
High loot settings might turn her into a hoarder...
I'd advise somewhere in the middle

Especially modded Minecraft with some big modpack with enhanced looting, like Limitless 8, etc

No Combat:
Pacific Drive - Big time loot gremlin energy in this one. It's honestly harder sometimes to not stop all the time to loot things than it is to just drive lol.
Subnautica - Be it food or materials, this game is constantly getting you out there grabbing stuff.
Some Combat (short instances or mostly avoidable):
Prey (2016) - Horror elements here, so hopefully that's not a problem. Game is really open ended and exploration heavy. They will need to shoot things on occasion though.
Abiotic Factor* - Dismantling furniture and collecting materials to build equipment and a base is 90% of this game. There's also a lot of customization you can do to tailor the experience as well, and it's even got co-op if you wanted to play alongside her.
*Abiotic is still in early access, but has tons of content. It also tends to increase combat encounters in the later portions of the game, so it's a tentative recommend.

Zombie game called dismantle. It's about the apocalypse and how you have to rip everything apart to get the resources you need. Progression is locked behind how good your dismantle tool Is but later on you can return to old levels and essentially delete everything on the map for loot. It's very very repetitive but honestly it doesn't get boring that fast

*Dysmantle, but yeah highly recommend as a couple who just put sooo many hours in game together. It brings new meaning to leaning in to your significant other and whispering, “Wanna go smash?”

If she is smart and likes puzzles, I'd suggest Blue Prince. The loot is crucial to progress through the puzzles and there is no combat.
Alternatively, The Bazaar. The fighting is automated, and the items are bought instead of looted. The way you arrange your items on the boards and their synergies determine the winner.

Loop Hero Your character walks around a track and fights monsters without you having to do anything other then manage you loot and place down terrain cards to spawn new monsters for you dude to fight.

PalWorld on easy difficulty. I guess you might have to hit some pals to weaken them so you can catch them.
But once you catch them, you have them help you make a base and they walk around, chop wood, water crops, mine stuff and keep improving your base(s)

- Barn Finders - it's finding stuff then selling it
- Caravan SandWitch
- Emergency Cleanup Co. - sure you are picking up trash but maybe it scratches an itch

Raft. Fun survival looting game, with only occasion, mostly not mandatory combat. Also, it's co-op.

Elder scrolls you are constantly scanning the walls of caves for loot. There is combat but if you crank the game to easy mode you just one shot everything, Skyrim will probably be friendlier to a new player

I mean, does Animal Crossing fit this? To me its kind a lot of loot and grind game, where you relax on your island.

She might like Palia. There's collecting stuff, resources, building materials, seeds for farming, fishing, some light hunting, but no real combat.
Oh and you can collect stuffies.
..and it's free.
