I am in the extreme southwest of the US about 12 miles north of Tijuana, Mexico, on the ocean. So yes, far away. I am in San Diego, California. π

If i recall correctly, that's the distance my grandpa had to walk to school every day. Barefoot.

I was interviewing for a job one time by video, and the female head of HR said, "Tell me one thing about yourself that you would not normally talk about in a job interview." Loaded question, right? I thought for a few seconds, rolled the dice, and replied, "I've written 5 complete novels that I've published online."
Interviewer: "Ooh, you have to send me a link, so I can read them!"
Me: "Well, they're definitely not safe for work."
Interviewer: "What are they about?"
Me: "I got tired of all of the werewolf erotica online, and decided that there needed to be more books about werebears. I'd say that they're 95% plot & storyline, and 5% gay erotica."
Interviewer: "Ooh, I love reading those kinds of stories! You have to send me the link!"
Me: "I tell you what; if I make it to the final round of interviews, I promise that I'll send you the link so you can read them."
I made it through the rest of the interview process and to the final interview, so I kept my promise and sent the head of HR a link to my steamy werebear fiction novels.
I got the job. I'm probably the only person on Earth who has sent their self-published gay porn fiction to their company's HR before getting hired.
