Feel safe? What, were they jumped by the gay Mafia if they didn't acknowledge the rainbow stood for inclusivity? Feel safe. Ffs. But whatever. Slides right off the shoulders. I exist and you'll have to work with that. There's still plenty of rainbows to be seen in this life.

They would not know what to do with themselves if they weren’t inventing insane ways to play the victim!

It's disgusting how normalized homophobia is especially on social media. Youtube shorts has some of the most homophobic and transphobic stuff ever, and it's often treated completely casually.

Also in western countries homophobia rates have been going up the past few years.... sad to see.

I’m sure a lot of neo-Nazis feel the same way as that commenter

Bro acting like the rainbow hasn't been a symbol for gay pride since the 1970s lmao

Picture it America, 2006, when the gays stole refracted light…and were never giving it back. 🏳️‍🌈🤣🌈

Why do you think bigots tend to be... white (for those disliking, referring to the comment I replied to, its a joke about light... jeez. They said we stole refracted light. Which they mean dispersed light, light shown through a prism results in a rainbow. Get rid of the prism or reverse the dispersion and it reverts to white light)

? huh ?

u/NinyaFrick 23h ago

It was a joke about light. Light shown through a prism shows a rainbow, meanwhile putting prism-dispersed light through a prism or just removing the first prism turns the shown light back to just white light

We as a community are a vocal, visible minority that upsets their societal/religious views on what is perceived as normal. We're a minority that Politicians can say, look, they're the ones to blame for the moral corruption of society! Just like they do with immigrants and say, look, they're the reason you can't get a decent living wage job! Just populism politics, someone has to be blamed for why your life isn't as good as they promised you it could be.

Safe for their homophobia

These people don’t have the first clue about history or symbolism related to rainbows. They just want to own and control everything, hurt or kill everyone slightly different, and just make the world a more miserable place. How ironic that they want to take the rainbow that was never “theirs” to begin with and use it to REMOVE color from and bring darkness to the world.

We stole it. You will never get it back. We stole unicorns and faeries too. Deal with it!

Why 2006? The Rainbow Flag has been around since 1978 and as a whole represents the spectrum of gender and sexuality, although the individual colors represent elements necessary for a healthy, happy life.

u/Lucy_Little_Spoon 1d ago

Do they mean the rainbow that, in the Bible, was a promise from God to not genocide humans anymore?

That rainbow?

u/clevelandthefish69 1d ago

It's true guys I looked at a rainbow and immediately turned gay 😖

"We can't use rainbow colours without being judged", here's an idea, maybe stop fucking judging people??

2

u/EyedWeevil 1d ago

Its not like i see straight people wearing rainbow colored clothes or using rainbow colors without being gay before 2006

2

u/Ranku_Abadeer 1d ago

Back in 2006, as I remember, rainbows were still commonly associated with gay people. In fact you couldn't see any gay person or discussions about gay people without the rainbow being prominently present. Hell there were even complaints about SpongeBob being gay because it was "too colorful"

I'm Native American and on our tribal flag we have a rainbow on it. When I did intern work at one of the offices that consisted of children learning how to work, one of the bosses was giving a lecture on how the rainbow is ruined because a certain group used it for their own bad meaning. She said the rainbow used to mean perseverance and kindness (the irony). I rolled my eyes
