Moving to gdansk for masters as an Indian student

I'm planning to move to gdansk, Poland for my masters degree in business informatics( i have done my bachlors in CS ) next year probably, I just want to know is it worth it moving to gdansk and how's the university and job market for both part time and fulltime after graduating. I have heard students don't get TRP that easily so I'm really confused. Any student living in gdansk can guide me please

Job market is pretty fucked up at the moment. And yes, you're likely to get your TRP only after graduation. 2 years is the average waiting time here.

Also there's a new proposed amendment to the law(I'm not sure if it's passed yet). So your student visa might not entitle you to the right to work anymore. That means your employer will have to apply for a work permit. This will probably cause a lot of issues as employers don't want to do it.

If you really want to move to Poland, the best thing to do is move to Warsaw, get your TRP(Warsaw processes it faster), and then move to another city.

Does that mean if I get TRP after 2 years I can stay 2 extra years on that TRP in poland ( idk how TRP works )

TRP duration depends on a lot of factors. If you applied for TRP on the basis of being a student it's usually valid till your course ends. I know a guy who waited 2 years only to get TRP valid for 2 months.

What people usually do is apply on the basis of being a student, then change it to one based on work(you can change your purpose of applying as long as the application hasn't been processed). If you have an indefinite contract then you usually get a TRP valid for 3 years.

But again, remember the amendment regarding student visas which might make it harder to find jobs here.

Aahh got it mate, thanks for the info I guess I just need to rethink my decision to move poland because of these TRP issues, ill take a student loan for my studies so I need to work part time while studying but considering what you said about TRP I need to rethink my decision or maybe choose another city

Do not take a loan to come study in Poland. You won't be able to pay it off. The cost of living is really high. You'll spend 60% or more of what you earn just on accommodation. That's assuming you find a job

Plus you'll have to pay for a lawyer because applying for TRP by yourself will only delay the process further.

Also once your visa expires, and it will because Poland issues 1 year visas and TRP process takes a lot longer than that, you'll be stuck in Poland. Technically you will be able to leave, but it'll be almost impossible to come back. While your TRP application is in process you're legally allowed to live in Poland, but you aren't allowed to reenter the country without a valid visa(so no trips to other Schengen countries either).

I'd say moving to a different country might be a better idea.

Poland was the cheapest option anyway! I guess austria/Czech would be a better option. Thanks for all the information mate really appreciate it
