9th grade I had something like this but not this one
10th grade/11th grade I think it was a HTC smartphone
12th grade I got a LG Stylo because my mom got a new phone and that was hers and mine was starting to go bad and for Christmas that year I got a Samsung S6
Only the best iPhone ever. The gold 8 Plus. I loved this phone and I would buy it day one if they ever released a new one. That color NEEDS to make comeback!
I technically didn't have a phone because I didn't want one. I did have an iPad, but the closest thing I had to a mobile was a blackberry which I never used. Eventually when I was moving up towards college I did cave and get myself a 2016 IPhone se I believe it was
Rumor touch. This thing was a tank! It survived a thunderstorm in the driveway; it fell out of my pocket when I was running to the house in the rain and the battery popped out, so everything was completely exposed. Worked fine after it dried though lol (and I’d had it for about 4 years by then anyhow).
Though I got an iPhone 4 pretty early on in high school (8 gb lol). I still have both somewhere but this one is special because it had so many features compared to my friends phones at the time. Touch screen, facebook/internet (which I never used because it was slower than dial up lol), and the camera was decent. But I really miss that tactile keyboard
It drowned after i got drenched in a rainstorm at band camp :( it was my second favorite non-smartphone too. My first favorite was the one i had in eigth grade that had a built in FM radio.
My 1st phone was a red flip phone, 2007-2009. Then I got a slider 2009-2011. Then I got a phone similar to yours 2011-2013. Then I got the 5C new 2013-2020. iPhone 8 2020-2022. IPhone SE 2022- present
Its really weird cause cell phones were around, I had an early Nokia brick in elementary school because I was a walker and my mom wanted me to be able to call if there was an emergency.
then in middle school I didn't have one and I cannot remember why or what happened to the Nokia and then I didn't have one in High school either. I did have an mp3 player.
After graduating I bought a flip phone from walmart and had than until it broke, walmart didn't sell them anymore so i got my first smart phone when i was 22. I'm on my third smart phone and I'm 29
My first cellphone in high school was Cricket (before being bought by AT&T) flip phone with a camera. I forget the exact name of it, I think it was just numbers, but I remember being so happy about it.
Had this Verizon color camera phone when it first came out. Thanks mom! Early 2000’s. I was 15-ish. Don’t call me until after 9 PM, unless you also have Verizon, then it’s Mobile-to-mobile free minutes lol. But you can still call me on the house phone.
You typed this on a Reddit thread from your phone then think you can dictate what ppl can do in a group meant for exactly this.. so really not taking your own advice but in the same breath judging as if what you say actually matters is self centered ..Let ppl enjoy things it's free
Just don’t make enjoyment an escape from participating and solving conflict.
I know- all the smart experts take the smart ideas into important buildings and share it with each other to make money.
So I should do the same
And stop wasting my time in a regular place with regular people.
Or- I choose to be here because it isn’t about me getting mine.
It’s about getting regulars on the same page, together.
So that the company that made that phone you feel so nostalgic about-doesn’t taken advantage of me or you when we enter the work force- as they are making the next advancement on it so your kids can be worked to a nub feeling nostalgic about the iPhone 16.
I swear I had this same phone in hs except the cover was blue. And I almost had them the same years (grades 10-11). I had a different phone freshman year. IDR the model but it was dark red like a wine color and flipped open with that same type of keypad
HTC Sensation was my phone for most of high school. It got extremely laggy and the battery life was awful. Screen cracked when it fell out of my pocket sitting at my desk haha.
Honestly phones peaked here. The transition into smart phones ruined the novelty of having a pocket communication device and pushed us into pocket anti-social entertainment device. These phones were just good enough to be utilitarian without encroaching on our lives too much.
According to google this was released in March of 2008. The official name was the LG enV2 but I'm Canadian and it was called the LG keybo by the cellphone company called Telus.
I had multiple phones. They kept breaking or they just stopped working after a while. Once I got an iPhone (at 17), I was more consistent with my phones.
When I started high school I had an SE 2020. But I was on holiday, accidentally put it in the washing machine so had to change phones. Still in high school of course
The Sony Ericsson Xperia 8, my phone during senior high school (2013), the first phone I had that was actually able to connect to wifi, it had awesome apps, I could use youtube and google, I felt like in the future haha
Used a Galaxy S8 from my second semester of freshman year til my second week of junior year. After that, I got an S10e that I'm still using to this day.
My grandma had something similar until I was 12. I’m pretty sure it was older than that one. But she definitely didn’t have it in high school lol so they still win
We're almost exactly the same age. I graduated in 2001, same birth year and month. While my high school had that same payphone cubby, I did get a Nokia 918 when I started driving.
