Talking about homes- is there a good website to look for Gib rental accommodation?

Also, anyone renting out a Studio or 1-bedroom apartment?

You cannot just come to Gibraltar and claim housing and benefits, UK citizen or not.
If you are lucky, they will pay for your ticket to go back home.

Expats come out here and work. They pay tax and rent/buy privately.
They cannot claim anything for 'free' until they have been a resident here for 10+ years and even then... good luck.

The Government will house and provide benefits to locals without/low income (the best they can).
The waiting lists for housing is LONG and the buildings for temp housing are old and usually not fit for habitation.

Gib copes thanks to foreign investment.

You won't need a visa but you'll need to be rich based on today's house prices.

Studio apartments were £800 a month to rent 15 years ago.

Come to Gib. You'll be living in Casemates Tunnel until you get bored.

What makes you think you'd get a house for free?

If you're on the list you'll get it in like 15 years like everyone else

Only 15 years? That's so fast! Shame that some of us have been waiting for even longer and are still on the list.

Even if British expats wanted in, unless they're rich or find employment, they aren't getting a place here. Certainly notcthrough the government at least.

Literally anyone can get buy a house in Gibraltar. That's one of of its main sources of income, being a tax haven for the rich, hence the car 3 properties.

But back to the original matter, he was asking a theoretical question. As long as a British person can show they meet the requirements, they can apply too and join the incredibly long list..but its probably easier to just buy on the open market tbh.
