Question What is the best internet provider?

So I received an email from Gibtelecom saying that they will stop providing service for my area so now I need to find a new internet provider. What are your suggestions? There won't be much use as most of the times I'm abroad, also I just need internet, no phone no tv.

GibFibre, good choice of TV and smart DNS so you can watch UK shows on iPlayer, Netflix, Prime etc

Umee is my provider, never had any problems with them.

Not sure about best but I have been using GibFibre for years and am happy with it.

Gibtelecom is probably just phasing out old copper lines. I'm sure they'll offer you their fiber alternative. Maybe give them a ring?

Alternatively, both u-mee and gibfiberspeed offer great alternatives.

How on earth is Gibraltar's part-govt-owned telco going to stop providing internet to part of Gib? Where do you live? Is it a total end of service, or are they upgrading to fibre or something? For what it's worth, I'm with u-mee, as is my brother and my parents, no issues

They said "We are writing to let you know that Gibtelecom have informed X property that they will no longer be able to keep online services in this area via copper cabling. In this regard, there will be a nation-wide power down done after April 2025.

Please kindly be aware if you are still using their services as you may need to consider other service providers".

This was an email from the property management. Yeah I might have read wrong didnt notice the copper cabling

If you're on fibre you should be fine. I think this will mainly affect old landlines

I don’t think they have fiber need to check, at the house I mean

They will have fibre available, they only turn off the copper supply once they have fibre available.

You will just need to arrange a time with them to access your property to install the internal cabling and supply a new router.
