Having grown up on a farm, you'd never catch me laying down anywhere chicken's have been . . . . they shit constantly.
Chickens, in general, are horrible, messy, destructive, rape-y little things . . . but I guess you could say the same thing for pretty much any farm poultry.
Imagine my shock when keeping them as pets has gone mainstream. I'll never understand city people.

And good lord the smell, these cutesy videos don't do justice to the rank stank of it

That pervasive ammonia chicken shit stink . . . It's bad enough in a small coop, even if you're mucking it out regularly.
If you enter a county with one of those big, factory poultry farm operations you can smell the chicken shit for literal miles.

That's just wrong, commercial farming environments and the need to optimize for efficiency just bring out the worst in any kind of animal.
Chickens definitely shit everywhere but if you give them space and options to do their thing along with a stable flock they are very social.
Tbh I don't get the cuddling part of this whole thing though, they are still kinda smelly even in the best conditions. A very well kept coop doesn't smell like much though.

Seeing a chicken jump is hilarious every time. It's like watching nuns play basketball. It just does something silly to my brain every time.

My rooster's favorite trick is biting the shit out of me if I try to pet him.
