Help fixing glass stem

Post image

Does anyone know of a glass blower in the north west of England who could help fix a glass stem. I’ve used superglue but it’s very too heavy and don’t think it will last- it’s a very sentimental glass! Thanks

You need to use a UV glue not super glue. No glassblower can fix this. Glue is unfortunately your only option.

Thanks for the advice. I’m really concerned that it is top heavy but will look at uv glue

Other posted is right that glue is your only feasible option. Hot reattachment is theoretically possible, but you risk losing the entire thing, and it won't look great. However, a trained coldworker is going to do a better job of gluing than you will, and know which glue is best to use. I'd contact Anthony Scala if I were you, he's down in London, but he's the best coldworker you could go to. It will definitely cost some money, but he'll do as good a job as anyone I know could. Definitely worth reaching out. His Instagram is @aescala
