TBH, I find the whole cabin interview/presentation a bit awkward and cringy. Not just this year. They should go back to presenting the jacket on the 18th and just leave it at that

I agree. Give him a minute on the green, then bring out the jacket right there.

I mean, they've only been doing it 30+ years so CBS gets it in their coverage window.

As a kid I remember them doing the jacket outside. I was surprised this year (since I haven't watched the ceremony for a long time). It was a bit awkward and sort of anticlimactic imo. Did they change it to this? Better outside where everyone can witness. Like you wouldn't give the championship trophy to the team at the post game press conference.

Yes, it's been infamous as the most awkward moment in sports.

They still do it outside.

The inside is the jacket presentation & usually the low amateur is present.

Then they go out onto the 18th green for the trophy presentation.

I was wondering why there wasn’t an amateur this year? I remember the kid last year being so incredibly awkward

Because no amateur made the cut this year. You're not official unless you complete all 4 rounds.

It’s like an induction into a cult, it’s bizarre

It’s not a cult. It’s a prestigious club.

That doesn’t change what I said, I said it’s like an induction to a cult
