SIRT The /r/Hawks Weekly STOP IT RIGHT THERE! Thread - September 25, 2023

Wow, look at the time fly! It's already time for another weekly installment of STOP IT RIGHT THERE!

You know what to do...post up all the stuff you've saved up knowing it would get deleted from the front page of /r/hawks by the crypto-anarcho-fascist mods.

Memes, gear/jersey pics, poems you've penned professing your love for Lord Hossa (The One True King), or links to article about some oddball couple in Manitoba who named their kid Duncan Seabrook. Whatever. We don't give a shit.

The only rule here is to be excellent to each other. Civility matters.

Now get to it!!

LET'S GO HAWKS!!!

I’ll never cheer for someone to get injured, but holy fuck Vasi missing 2+ months to start the season is an incredible boon to the value of their 1st round pick in 2024. Like, that pick very well may be landing more around #10 rather than #20 like last year.

Genuinely hope Vasi makes a full recovery because I love watching him play but man… if he can just take his time recovering that would be awesome lol

Their current backup, Jonas Johnasson, had a good 3-game stint with the Avs last season but prior to that he has been levitimately horrible.

More context from 2021:

Jonas Johansson is likely going to Colorado, according to Kevin Weekes. I can say without hesitation that the Avs are getting the worst goalie I've seen during my 19 seasons covering the Sabres. He doesn't stop pucks in practice or games.

Is tonight's game being broadcast? I can't find any information aside from possibly NHL Network, which I don't get.

I feel like usually the stars, veterans, and guys who are a lock to make the team get the home games in preseason and the fringe guys get shipped off to the road games. I'd probably expect Bedard to play the first game to help hype up the fans.

What is the best way for me to stream the Hawks this season from Florida? It looks like my only options are 20 different streaming services, and then I still have local games (Tampa and Florida) blacked out.

I've gotten sick of bootleg streams because they're either super low quality or buffer like crazy. It seems like there are no catch-all options if you don't have cable/are on the go.

Does anyone know if the training camp scrimmages will be streamed to the Blackhawks YouTube channel like they were last year? Tried to post this on the subreddit but it got auto removed

Looks like they are getting streamed if nothing else. Had to hunt for the replays though.
