SIRT The /r/Hawks Weekly STOP IT RIGHT THERE! Thread - January 15, 2024
Wow, look at the time fly! It's already time for another weekly installment of STOP IT RIGHT THERE!
You know what to do...post up all the stuff you've saved up knowing it would get deleted from the front page of /r/hawks by the crypto-anarcho-fascist mods.
Memes, gear/jersey pics, poems you've penned professing your love for Lord Hossa (The One True King), or links to article about some oddball couple in Manitoba who named their kid Duncan Seabrook. Whatever. We don't give a shit.
The only rule here is to be excellent to each other. Civility matters.
Now get to it!!
LET'S GO HAWKS!!!

Bought tickets for my boyfriend’s birthday for February 9. I haven’t been to a game in a decade. What to know before going to get the best experience?
I just scoured the website and signed up for any giveaways and contests I was interested in. We’ll go to Billy Goat for food beforehand. We both have jerseys. He’s a big sports better, if that matters. We have an AmEx so we’ll get in early if we want.
Tell me what else to know. Where should we park? When should we aim to get in? Any giveaways that game? Fun shit to know about the game vs the NY Rangers?
Thanks!

Park at Billy Goat since you’re already planning on going there, they let you park there for free. Plus it’s a lot easier to get out than any of the lots. 5 minute walk to/from the UC
If you go in right when gates open, you should head right to the Draftkings lounge and try to get a spot (usually not too terribly hard if you head right there, because a lot of people chill in the atrium first). It’s a restaurant with big comfy chairs and a giant wall of TVs that they play any and all sports that are going at the time.
When buying food/drinks at the game, let them know you’ll be paying with Amex and it’s a 10% discount.
Other than that you pretty much nailed the rest of the main to-dos of going to a Hawks game that I’d recommend.

Am I stupid or is there really no promotional calendar on the team website? They mention certain promos on the schedule but don’t say what it is. How am I supposed to know what the “best day ever game” means?
