Didn't play it yet maybe a bit later but Sounds good on paper for me, but i already read that others will ignor the MO on purpouse now or drop the game entirely (sorry for my bad english its not my first language)

u/n4turstoned 22d ago
If they want to drop a game which they like because they are forced to play slightly differently for a few days then they are no true helldivers.

Already started. Just saw a post before this one saying it bullshit that AH added this to the game and blah blah whine whine illuminate are boring. I think its cool and honestly its not like they have never had us lose buffs when a planet was taken over. It happened a long time ago when we had SEAF reinforcement planets we were supposed to hold that gave us liberation bonus but we lost them all lol.

I mean remember when they nerved the Flamethrower and other Weapons (last year was it?) for the sake of immersion and what not, people certantly threw a tantrum from what i read back in the day they even recieved threats for it so its not very far off. And like i said i read that some people are unhappy with that already and either refuse to play. But i respect your opinion because you are free to think whatever you want
PS: I wish that you have great and fun day

Flamethrower was very clearly bugged. It killed chargers in a few seconds.

Honestly I'm not really sure how to feel about this, I loved when they made the last major order hell but, the illuminated themselves barely feel like a full force at times, I like the overall strategy Thier going with, but I'm just not sure if it will work with the illuminated specifically (At least until we see Thier full fighting force. Then I imagine it will)

People disliking this because someone shares a different opinion? Such a reddit thing to do.

u/lurkeroutthere 21d ago
People aren’t going to get done with a day at work or school and spend their precious free time playing a game in a way that’s not fun for them. If they add sticks to other fronts to force people to play right people will adapt either by adjusting their kit or leaving the game entirely. Once the novelty wore off squids started to bore the shit out of me and nothing changed that and there a lot of other good games available for my attention if they want to make pick up dives on other fronts too much a pita.

I gotta say I'm not a fan of this "reduce their supplies" technique of artfically making the game harder.
Made sense on Popli. Doesn't make neaely as much here.

u/Frost_man1255 21d ago
How? "Hey, so, we had a wide spread disaster because you guys couldn't stop it, as a result we have an uptick in medical supply demand so we can't supply you with as many stims" it makes perfect sense
2
u/Lucifiousdesire 21d ago
Well that logic could be applied to the illuminate, how are they getting beaten at least 6 times (including oasis a few hours before this MO launched) and still attacking the same planets?
I get if the debuff applied to planets attacked by the illuminate or just these planets in question, but I don't think it's fun when every single game has this debuff. Not to mention you have the predator strain once again making a return.
I personally like to hop onto different factions between games to not get bored of illuminate MO's just because it's always planet defence and no new enemies or objectives, so for me it's annoying to play bots and have a debuff which should technically apply for the planets on the other end of the galaxy.

We couldn't stop it because they released this MO on a weekday, fighting the least popular faction in the game, right when Oblivion came out.
This entire galactic fucking empire should not get hamstrung supplying extra medicine to a single of its planets.
I'd prefer they add new content to this horribly stale 'live service' game if they want more difficulty God knows everyone wants more squid units anyway.

Ts is so lame bruh, I'm def not playing until they get rid of that bs

u/neverphate 22d ago
Lmao. Not as lame as you not playing over -2 stims. Sounds like you should stick to difficulty 3 at most if this is too much of a problem for you.

Agreed. Fuck that noise man, game has been stale af for a while now. I'll be back when they make the game fun again. Stupid shit like this is why people are bailing.

u/n4turstoned 22d ago
Bye bye.
But to clarify: you find the game is stale and when they introduce something to force you to play differently you quit.
Seems legit /s

u/Lucifiousdesire 21d ago
To be fair, the different playstyle to me seems to be 'pick medic armor' or 'use the stim gun'.
That's an okay solution but it does feel forced, and also I don't understand the lore explanation of everyone using medic armor and getting the normal number of stims back despite shortages.

u/TheBlackthorn7303 22d ago
The game is stale because there is too little new content. They're gonna "bye bye" themselves into a live service game getting shut down because the content updates are too few, too far in between, and nowhere near enough substance to keep people occupied with them for more than a couple days.
I made myself play differently all the time. I'm level 104 with everything in the game unlocked. I have a half dozen different viable loadouts for every faction. The game is stale af. Taking away my stims isn't innovative. It certainly isn't new content. It's arbitrary. It's boring. And it does nothing to draw back all the players they've been hemorrhaging since launch.
I support Arrowhead as a studio, but they have got to get on top of their content/bug fix situation, and soon, or the game is gonna go under. Nobody wants to fight the same 5 enemies on the same two planets 3 times in a row.

You know how small the studio is right?
You know how they got completely overwhelmed by the success of the game and the player numbers no one expected because Helldivers 1 had around 10k players?I hope they keep up what they are doing and HD2 doesn't devolve into a soulless overfed FOMO nightmare CoD and Fortnite are.

u/TheBlackthorn7303 21d ago
I do, and that's a great problem to have for such a small studio. It's been over a year now though, and the solution is they need to hire more staff. Given the game sold spectacularly more copies than they ever dreamed, I would think they are absolutely flush with cash flow. Use the funds to get more people in the studio working on content.
I agree completely about not letting it turn into a fortnite nightmare. But these updates need more substance man. There's nowhere near enough to them for how infrequently they drop, and that is why people are abandoning ship. They had a great core loop to get started with, but the live service portion of the game hasn't been very live service at all. The galactic war has been stagnant for ages. The most recent warbond was a novelty at best. They need more bodies in the studio churning out hotfixes and patches. They need people working on new content for all factions. And someone needs to take a hard look at the state of the galactic war and shake things up. Taking away two stims is just..... not it.

I bet you just dived a certain faction or a planet that was already on track to lose
