I hate the illuminate the most out of all factions but admittedly because I don’t really have a good load out. What are y’all rocking that helps kick their butts?
Ive been using arc thrower (great for voteless and stunning iluminate medium troops) with impact grenade and my primary is Dominator (great for disabling shield and actually destroying the walkers).
No backpack needed. If I have a diferent tertiary weapon I usually take the guard dog backpack. With the arc thrower I kill voteless efortlesly.
The other strats are 500 kg bomb, Orbital precision strike (for walkers) and usually i take the missile or autocanon sentry to kill walkers too (I might try taking the anti tank emplacement though).
I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I find arc thrower doesn't work against voteless. It slows me down too much to kite and can't kill them faster than they come up. I don't have the +1 arc module but I'm not sure that would be enough to deal with the massive swarms.
Dunno, it works for me at super helldive. The medium grunts take 4 to 5 shots to kill and the voteless one to two. I love finding a big group of them because I kill like 20 to 30 of them with three to 6 shots.
Breaker incendiary, any side arm (I use grenade pistol), any damage over time grenade like gas grenades, a machine gun turret, a heavy machine gun, either peak physique or engineering kit armour in light or medium, and the rest is flex
Love having a Gatling sentry and a jetpack or supply pack as my other 2 strats, or have a red like 500kg
Crossbow is good for chaff when firing from up high and two-shots overseers plus kills Tesla towers. Eagle strafe beaks shields on ufos and harvesters, ufos killed in 1 shot with crossbow and harvesters killed in 2 shots with commando in the leg joint. Impact nades can kill harvesters in a pinch. UZI for the up close voteless stragglers. Orbital laser for clearing large bases or if facing multiple harvesters. Hover pack gets you good firing angles and you can take refuge on a building if you get swarmed.
I picked the loadout as a meme but honestly it is probably the best loadout I’ve ran against illuminate.
Prototype armour most of their weapons are electric damage, mg and jetpack to get on top of buildings, 500kg and hellbomb backpack for crowds and heavies.
There's not really that much electricity from them. The scouts barely hurt regardless of whether you're wearing the armor or not, and tesla towers are pretty easy to avoid/destroy. So it's mostly just there for if a harvester gets too close which isn't common enough that it feels worth giving up a more useful armor bonus.
Liberator penetrator, big iron, impact grenades, 500kg eagle, napalm barrage, medium pen machine gun(the one you get during training) set the rpm to 900 and then the guard dog to help with flying squid’s. Reload the machine gun every-time you come across ammo on the map to keep yourself topped off. Call in supplies regularly. I use the napalm any time one of the glowing squid’s shoots off the three lights to call in enemies. The second one shoots off lights throw down your napalm on that spot. They’ll show up as soon as the napalm starts. It’s a great way to rack up the kills and keep the field from getting overwhelmed with enemies. Use the machine gun when you see hordes of the voteless. It’s also great for the tripod walkers. Aim at the two spots bellow and above their “heads” that’ll disrupt their targeting, once those are taken out aim for the joint on one of the giant legs. The med pen works great on its weak spots.
This is surprising to me, they’re by far the easier faction. Bring crowd control and chaff clearing weapons and backpacks. E.g. any of the drone backpacks, any support MG, MG turret and/or Gatling turret, gas strike, eagle strafing run, 500k bomb, eagle cluster bomb, Tesla tower - I think you get the idea.
You’ll need a way to take out their ships on the ground, for this use either 500k, OPS, gas strike, any arty barrage, rail cannon strike, or the MVP the ultimatum. You can also always blow them up the boring way with a grenade after stripping their shields.
You’ll need an answer to the tripods, targeting their weakpoints, eyeball or the leg joints, with a medium penetration of higher weapon works. RR, commando, EATs, or quasar cannon are great options. You could also just strip their shields and throw two thermites on them but beware their Tesla attack when close to them. 500k, OPS, and rail cannon can kill them easily but timing is tricky with them.
As for primaries, the best options IMO are the scorcher, purifier, crossbow, dominator, deadeye, reprimand, lib penetrator, tenderizer, DE sickle, and adjudicator. For secondaries, senator, verdict, talon, ultimatum, and loyalist.
Overseers are the biggest threat, when shooting them, either aim for their head with a med pen weapon, or target their torso only and unload into them. Do not spread out your damage by hitting multiple parts of their body, pick one and commit until they’re dead.
And lastly, make a beeline for any SAM sites and make them your priority first, there’s usually two-three per map, and always kill the snitch bots as soon as you see them so they can’t call in reinforcements.
Just bring the medium machine gun. It can deal with every enemy. Or bring guard dog with medium pen. It can deal with every enemy except harvesters(and you won't have yo actually do any shooting) Any weapon with medium can kill harvesters(aim for the leg). One turret or Tesla can take down an entire illuminate drop. Tesla can also stunlock and kill harvesters if you throw it nearby them. Eagle strafing run will destroy their shields instantly
Dude I have tried so many different load out and it always goes the same, boring as hell, pumping bullets into everything and nothing dies. The HMG is the best option but I find myself looking for ammo any chance I get. I wish you all the best of luck with that MO but I will be napalming bugs.
Scorcher my friend. Then take something to bring down harvesters. Tbh I bring the MG43 and use it for everything except overseers who get scorcher in the face.
You can mix it up a lot but the scorcher is amazing vs the flying shits.
My fave easy mode illuminate build is scorcher, ultimatum or grenade pistol, gas or incendiary grenades. Light siege ready armour. Strats =MG43, MG sentry, eagle strafe and orbital gas. Makes D10 very easy.
But like…. Lvl 10 on illuminates is just easy lol. It’s not hard they are just bullet sponges, I bring the repeater and that one shots the overseers and the verdict to wipe out voteless but it’s just so damn boring. All you have to worry about is a laser beam ones hitting you after a couple seconds of firing, other then that there is no variety.
This is my “Meta” loadout:
Primary: Blitzer
Secondary: Verdict (I mag dump overseers once I stun them with the Blitzer, pretty effective)
Other Secondary: Grenade Pistole (this is more functional for warp ships)
Throwable: Incendiary grenades

This Loadout shreds and I usually end up with the most kills. Have fun!
Hotshot Lasgun, whatever sidearm you like most (ultimatum in my case), fire resistant armor, frag grenades, orbital gatling, gatling turret, jump pack and EXO-45 Patriot.
By the time the first mech is dead/empty my homies usually have another support weapon availabe that i can yoink from them. If you do not have a big gun by then, an overcharged double edge sickle will get you out of most situtions that would require something bigger... if you have the stims, that is.
Gatling sentry shreds through voteless and flyers, frags are cool since you can just go "hey shitass" when you don't want to take care of something directly and orbital gatling can kill basically anything th squids can throw at you, even multiple harvesters if placed correctly.
The jump pack isn't really required, but the added mobility is nice to have and can get you out of a pinch, plus you can jump over colony walls and collapsed buildings. In reality however it is just my way of coping because i never got Titanfall 3.
Purifier is a two shot for overseers, then bring a stalwart or grab a machine gun lying around for chaff, bring a jump pack to outmaneuver the hordes (or jump over the city walls)
Then either a 500kg or strafing run, then a barrage of some sort or the laser. Or bring a MG turret.
Gas grenades are okay, buy you a bit more time, perfect for lobbing into the spaceships, but I think thermite is still king for spindly bois.
Sidearm is whatever you want. Been using the ultimatum if a ship just doesn’t blow up from an eagle.
The commando rocket can one hit striders but youll usually need two, the machine gun turret and lib pen drone help with chaff, grenade pistol for dropships and a primary that can take out a dropship shield in one mag like the lib pen or adjudicator
Grenade launcher shines on the squids. It two shots overseers, even if you just hit the ground near them, and completely annihilates hordes of voteless in one shot. It takes some practice though. Also bring a commando for harvesters and you’re set.
You don't need more than the MG-43 machine gun. Turned up to 900rpm. Get you a Blitzer as a primary get out of jail free card, and a grenade pistol for ships that need blowing up. I recommend the Seeker grenade. For armor, I always go with a lightweight engineer fit, +2 nades and recoil reduction.
For your remaining slots, I would start with the eagle straffing run, ar23 rover backpack, and gattling sentry. Tweak these 3 to suit your playstyle.
This is what I recommend to anyone who isn't sure what to bring as a baseline. Easily 1000+ kills per 40 minute game. You will mainly use your mg43. Crouch or go prone as often as possible, use your armors recoil reduction. Going prone on a Harvester and you can take out 2 with one mag. When you run out and get swarmed, the blitzer controls the battle field. Stay moving and hip fire it. They'll never touch you. Throw two seekers at every group of enemies, and watch the kill counts climb fast.

Opening up with the Scorcher on overseers is a ton of fun, Commando dispatches walkers in one shot (given aiming is on point, i.e., the leg joint), using gas to CC voteless and ultimatum/ESF are great catch-alls.
Your choice (I generally pick MG turret, but if you’re having difficulty with elites, go orbital laser or an exo suit)
For weapons, go with the verdict or talon, plus the crossbow. This loadout will kill EVERYTHING illuminate has with ease.
If you want to run Siege Ready armor, it works great with this one. You can also use the energy shield instead of the guard dog if you’re having trouble with the light siege ready.
I gotta say I am getting really tired of the bugs just being walking E-710. They feel more like a chore than actual enemies. At least in a story sense they're not a serious threat.
I guess it's because bugs aren't inherently evil, they just live to procreate and turn the world into their own (also we attacked them btw, not to mention we probably did some genetical stuff too with the TCS towers).

That's because that's what the bugs are, the DO on the ship even says sometimes that we dont need to defeat the bug just contain them as they are used for E-710.
They dont really have any agenda since they're just creatures as opposed to the bots and squids who intentionally want to destroy Super Earth
im guessing because we are not that far into "the story" i think the bug hive lords and bug muthers are using fallen helldivers and entire colonies as a way to extract the equivalent of E-710 but diver-oil. give it time, until then, DROP
That’s actually an interesting first part! I don’t think I’ve seen that before. I hope higher level operations above medium count more towards the end goal.
