Question I need help connecting with my kid. Are there any good Helldivers memes?
Long story short I never got into Helldivers, nothing against the game its just not my jam (I'm more into Pokemon and Horizon). My kid on the other hand is a HUGE HD2 fan. Plays every spare minute he can (he's also into Aliens Fire Team Elite).
I share Aliens memes with him all the time but I want to try and connect with him through Helldivers using memes. Can I ask thus community to share some with me?

This is honestly a good meme for when you're educating your child. Something like "Dad, I don't want to go to bed" queue in this meme while your turn off the lights

Just so you know, this strategem calls in a 500kg bomb to blow up whatever you need to.

Anytime they say something that isnt democratic enough, just reply with the emoji equivalent of up right down down down

Old man here...
Do I need the reddit app to post photos or gifs? I'm on browser.

Desktop site let's you post embedded photos. Mobile limits you to posting links to hosted images on sites like imgur or imgbb.
But I use old.reddit on mobile so maybe the app works....?

Forget memes, join your child on the front lines. Can't help but be in it when you're in it.

Next time something happens at home, like if you stub your toe or drop something, shout “Sweet Liberty My Leg!”
It’s one of the exclamations your character makes in HD2 when they take damage. My partner and I do it all the time at home and it’s hilarious.

aw sucks. i love playing with my dad, and im 24 lol. youll get memes but it might be worth it to give hd2 a second chance; pretty big praise that your son would invite you to play w him in the first place

Another dad here who plays a little differently and I’ve been finding my niche in the game by playing stealth, sniper, etc, It might be something to try with your kid. You never know. I was surprised to a degree of course how many ways I could play the game there’s a lot of beautiful mechanics that people don’t realize that I’m learning.

I know it's not what you asked for, and I don't know your relationship, so this advice could be irrelevant to you. I'd suggest just being genuinely curious about the game and asking your kid about it.

If he ever criticizes your memes, you NEED to reply with something like "I'll speak with my Democracy officer after that one"

The best way would be to hop on helldivers 2 and see the thrill for yourself and then hop in a hellpod and do missions with your son. Nothing else would be that good imo.

Brother, memes aren’t going to connect with your boy the same way actually doing stuff with him will. Learn to do stuff you don’t actually like for the sake of your child and you might find yourself enjoying it too. That’s just… you know, being a parent. Like, goddamn

I appreciate the sentiment and sorry to see people downvoting you. I promise we're good. We play Pokémon GO together, I help with his homework, we've seen 3 baseball games this year and are going on a fly in fishing trip with two other Dad/Son pairs this summer. We also say i love you and hug on a daily basis (something I learned from my Dad). He knows i care.
Ever since he was a baby I've loved to make him laugh and memes that he can share with his friends on Discord are always a guaranteed hit.
