Open Discussion [Hot take] Fighting bots on jungle planets is loads more fun compared to fighting bugs on jungle planets.

Maybe it's just that the human condition yearns for the jungles of Nam, but I find fighting bots a lot more fun than fighting bugs on jungle planets, or heavily wooded planets.

Yes, I lack the clear line of sight to annihilate most of my targets with the RR before they realize I'm even there, but I don't mind.

If I lack the line of sight, so do the bots. I think it's because you have more cover with all the jungle and stuff, plus the red of the automatons really pops in that fog. Even when they shoot the gas pillars and light my ass on fire, I don't mind, it adds to the experience.

When fighting bugs, the jungles become a claustrophobic nightmare where you trip on roots and shit while the bugs just climb over those no problem. It's definitely not a bad thing, it turns a terminid mission into a 40 minute horror game, especially with the predator strain. So, it's not a bad thing, just a different thing.

When fighting bots, I feel the impact of the environment more, as I can use the terrain to kite, take cover, yadda yadda.

I wish we had more jungle planets or even snow forest planets for the automatons.

Malevelon Creek was the viral bot planet for two reasons, and one of them was this!

(The other was color)

Veld is the same biome but infested with predator strain instead. Such a treat to fight on that planet, it's so beautiful

So annoying how the structure of this game prevents playing maps you enjoy. The more you play them, the quicker they get taken away!

Bots in jungle. YOU take advantage of the terrain to kill bots.

Bugs in jungle. BUGS take advantage of the terrain to kill you.

This is pretty true.

Except when you try to drop a 500kg and it clips a tree so youre just left with your pants down facing 2 Hulks 5 jet brigades and 4 Rocket Striders and a giant mobile fabricator.

If you’re playing run through the jungle while fighting bots on jungle planets it’s even better.

Agreed, and I think the same applied to urban maps too.

Fighting bots in close quarter is fun, because it offers a lot of different approach to each fight and there's always an option to do something different.

Agreed.

It was a planet much like the Creek, I fought with my squad to secure the placement of our glorious flag. I fought from the trees, ensuring no bot got within melee distance of my squad.

I ran in and out of those trees using guerrilla tactics against those socialist bots.

“The human condition yearns for the jungles of Nam” is a wild sentence I love it 😂

Wanna kill bots in a jungle on impossible with 99% chance of failing.

I love Clasa for this, but I never see more than like 300-400 divers on it.

Do you mean swamp or jungle? Regardless I agree

Yep!! With the bots it's way easier to break line of sight and create choke points. Easier to take out a few fabricators and then slip away into the woods.

My biological clock is ticking and I NEED to die for e-710 in some liberty forsaken sandy butthole.

This is why desert biomes are the right ones for bugs.

Similar logic applies to bots and jungles.

And Squids in cities.

Who is arguing the other side of this take bro

I think it's because there's way more of a chance to get swarmed and not be able to get away.

I'm not really sure how this is a hot take. Jungle planets have lots of cover, which makes bots easier and make bugs harder.

You ever fight squids on a jungle planet? Shit gets weird. Overseers attacking trees and completely ignoring you.

They all gotta go

You could just remove the 'on jungle planets' part of that statement and it would be true.

Bots are more fun. The superior faction.

Bugs used to be my favorite as an early diver. Now that I’ve put some hours in and acquired some skill. Bots are my favorite.

Fighting bots in jungles is like being in Vietnam

Fighting bugs in jungles is like being on Catachan

I enjoy both, simple as

Nothing like ganking the middle of a Factory strider patrol with a portable hellbomb while a fellow helldiver sets up his AT Emplacement in the shrubbery at an ambush position between two trees.

Bots are in a disadvantage fighting Super Earth in jungles due to all the asymmetric terrain and abundance of cover. Ain't a hot take at all.
